25.01.2022 It’s the weekend, yay! Ok, last room of the house... ny good oiler has oils in the bathroom so I want to know which ones are on your counter. Oils not only pair amazingly well with your skincare routines but they also make great toilet sprays for those less than pleasant smells - yuck! 20.01.2022 I LOVE diffusing oils in my bathroom. I diffuse when I take my morning shower to wake me up and give me pep and zest for the day. I also like diffusing in the guest bathroom when we have company over to keep odors at bay. Sometimes plugs are limited or space is tight and diffusers might just not work in your bathroom psace. You can also add a drop or two of your favorite citrus oil to the inside of yoru toile paper tube to keep it fresh - no diffuser needed!
19.01.2022 Day 1 - Spring Cleaning Challenge #springcleaningchallenge Ok so SPRING has SPRUNG everyone. So, let’s get this party started. You will see below, the layout of our 14 day Spring Cleaning Challenge. You can choose to do this out of order, but just know that each day, the recipes will be shared in order, so we don’t confuse everyone.... So today is day 1, and we thought that we would just help you get this one out of the way ASAP, as it is probably the worst job ever, right? Let’s get your fridge sparkling and smelling fresher than ever. You will see our favourite recipe below. We love using the On Guard Cleaner Concentrate because of its versatility and the fact that it is so cost effective [$0.80 per 500ml bottle to be exact], so you will find that this is often the base for most cleaning sprays because. By adding in a citrus oil, you are really amplifying the cleaning benefits of the spray, and also adding that beautiful, fresh citrus smell to your fridge. It is just an added bonus that citrus oils are the KINGS of removing anything sticky. We know that the good old vanilla spray was a staple item in most households, but its main ingredient is most likely derived from petroleum and the vanilla scents are less than ideal. TIP: If you want the cleaning benefits of Citrus with the added natural vanilla twist, sub the oils in this recipe with the Citrus Bliss Blend.
16.01.2022 Day 3 - Spring Cleaning Challenge #springcleaningchallenge Great job with all of the mattress cleaning! How much fresher does your room feel?! So now that we have mattresses out of the way, we are using the same foundation of freshening, for our carpets.... Again, I have seen many microscopes on carpets, and they are just as gross ! So, this is an easy cleaning hack that you can do when you feel that your carpets need a refresh. Just make sure you patch test this first to ensure that your carpet is OK with this formula. Try to avoid citrus oils if you can, as they are photosensitive and may cause some parts to lighten if exposed to direct sunlight. I haven’t heard it happening, but we don’t want to learn that one the hard way, so best to be cautious. I love using this recipe when I feel that the room needs a little refresh, it really does make the whole room smell nice, without the nasties. The artificial fragrances in most store bought carpet fresheners are toxic to your body so best avoided entirely. So this is a great natural, cheap, effective alternative and can be made in 10 seconds. Just a tip make sure to put the lid cover on your shaker before you give it a shake to mix the oils in. We may or may not be speaking from experience on this one . If you don’t have one, you can usually find them in the cooking utensil section of your supermarket and may also be called a chocolate duster. We thought we would team up refreshing your bins on the same day, as you would usually empty your vac & bin bag before you start. So, while these are empty it is a great time to give these nasty things a deep clean. We have also shared our favourite hack for those times in between deep cleans to keep your bin smelling fresh.
15.01.2022 Day 4 - Spring Cleaning Challenge #springcleaningchallenge Let’s tackle the kitchen. It is probably the worst job because we tend to neglect kitchen decluttering because it is HUGE task. But, there is no time like the present to get everything out, sorted and cleaned. Imagine how good you will feel once it is done.... The easiest part of this challenge will be the cleaning spray you make up. It is simple, effective and cheap. You are looking at about $1 per 500ml spray bottle you make up. That is not a typo$1! You may see other kitchen sprays recommending vinegar, water and oils. These are great too but just so you know, vinegar shouldn’t be used on stone surfaces. We love the On Guard Cleaner Concentrate because it is efficient, versatile and cost effective, and it is also safe for all surfaces. So, once you have decluttered your cupboards and drawers and given them a good clean, you can use our favourite sink scrub recipe to give your sink back it’s sparkle! We love to do this regularly especially if you like to soak your fresh veggies in a bit of lemon oil and water to get the nasties off them, you want to make sure that your sink is fresh as a daisy.

04.01.2022 October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. This is something that I hold really dear to me! Having suffered double digits in losses the pain and heartache is something you can’t describe. Having been there knowing the hurdles and hoops I had to jump through before being blessed with 2 rainbow babies is devastating to say the least. ... I am able to talk openly about it (with lots of emotions and tears) in the hope that I can help 1 person. I talk about my experience through conceiving naturally to having to undergo multiple procedure and IVF and the roller coaster that ride is. Pregnancy is no joke and to many this gift is not possible to experience. I was that 1 in 4 and remembering everything I went through I wouldn’t change for the world. No matter how horrible it was at the time to go through. 04.01.2022 Day 2 - Spring Cleaning Challenge #springcleaningchallenge Firstly, can we say that we loved seeing everyone participate in day one and get the worst job out of the way first up! Well done. Ok so today’s challenge is getting those mattresses refreshed. Have you seen some of the videos that show you what can live inside of your mattress . So, it is actually quite important that you do this as much as you possibly can if you don’t have a mattress that is mite & mould resistant.... We have also seen some people move their mattress in front of the window on sheet day as well to air it out and allow the sun to kill some nasties too. If you would like to do this on your sheet days, we have added a spray recipe that you can use in between to keep your mattress fresh, and then do the deep clean with the bicarb and oils in between. Just a tip make sure to put the lid cover on your shaker before you give it a shake to mix the oils in. We may or may not be speaking from experience on this one . If you don’t have one, you can usually find them in the cooking utensil section of your supermarket and may also be called a chocolate duster. The best thing about this task, is that if it’s a nice sunny day outside you may be able to check off day 9’s challenge too and take that day off. We will share that recipe below too. We have chosen the Purify Blend or Tea Tree in this recipe because of the cleansing benefits of these oils, in particular for organisms and pests. Other oils that you may like to use if you don’t have these are:- Eucalyptus Lemon Eucalyptus Citronella Lemongrass Arborvitae Clove (if you like the smell) Lemon Myrtle Clearify Peppermint is also a great addition to combine with any of these other oils as most bugs hate peppermint.
