23.01.2022 Absolute cracker of a game yesterday. With things being quiet we only had 10 golfers turn up. So in the spirit of adventure we decided on a 5 person ambrose with the guys taking on the girls. Acting club captain Kelvin (Kylie) Walton teamed up with Yao , Muay , Mily and Pim to take on the gun team of Birdy, Dave , Ado , Isaak and Hooch. Only giving the girls 5 shots on handicap the guys were entitled to feel like red hot favourites. But we know what happens to red hot favouri...tes!!! After a couple of holes Kevins Angels were beating us off the stick. Pim and Yao were sinking massive putts. Kevin (after his temporary gender reclassification) was driving huge from the ladies red markers. The pressure was on so we did the only thing we could do..... more beers. Big thanks to Jock and Jarrod for providing table service on the 3rd, 6th, 9th etc etc. It all came down to the last we needed an eagle and they had to bogey... didnt happen so we had more beers. Great effort girls, you were worthy winners. The course was looking immaculate so big thanks to those on the mowers. See you on course.... See more
23.01.2022 Great to see so much activity on the golf course. Many people are playing in pairs at all times of the day maintaining their social distancing . The course is looking beautiful. So many people are enjoying this downtime to put in a lot of work to achieve that. Special shout out to Kev for his magnificent efforts on the greens. To Frank, Jude, Richo, Dave, Birdy, Stuart, James and everyone else who has put in the work.. it is much appreciated. See you on course
22.01.2022 Twas the best of times.. Twas the worst of times... Nope it was just the worst of times. Conditions yesterday were bad. Another week of rain left the course looking rather lush. The greens were soft and muddy and the rough was unplayable. Despite this 15 people turned up for an individual stableford blue marker event. Flying in the face of adversity Josh Carr had an amazing round of 41 points to be a clear winner. Birdy again with 2 wings was next best on 38. Very well played you two. Josh had the long drive, Yao the ladies long drive and long putt. Birdy nearest x2 and Kev the nearest for 1. Next Saturday is an individual par and hopefully the weather is kinder to us this week. Thanks to those who have paid their membership.
