07.01.2022 New Tax Tables have been released and are expected to pass through legislation in the coming days. Payroll software companies are madly working to release updates with the new tax tables. The ATO have confirmed that employers have until the 16th November to update their tax tables. You can start using the new rates as soon as they become available in your payroll software. ... If you want, most payroll software will allow you to "manually override" the tax withheld in a payrun (and enter the new withholding amount) but you aren't obligated to. You don't have to recalculate/backpay previous payruns to your employees.
