We celebrate Women's Day, so I like to make a point that there is an equivalent day for the blokes - even if it doesn't get the same level of hype!... For all those amazing, supportive loving men in the world - thanks for all that you do! This absolute stud muffin is my Dad, pic taken not long after he emigrated to Australia in the late 60s...

23.01.2022 R O A R The woman who made my theme song famous, Helen Reddy has sadly passed away.. a devastating loss for her family I have always found comfort and inspiration in those famous words - I am woman.. hear me roar!... If I have to, I can do anything! Whenever I need a pep talk for myself, its a go-to song (thanks to Mum and Dad for making sure I had a good music appreciation!), and will now be a little bitter sweet when I sing the lyrics.. RIP Helen - and condolences to your family at this time..

20.01.2022 C U R I N G S O A P Did you know that good quality handmade soap is cured for 4-6 weeks before it is available for sale? Curing allows for water to evaporate from the soap, making a harder bar that lasts longer in the shower.... more importantly, curing also allows the particle crystallisation process to complete which makes the soap milder and more gentle on your skin.. one of the many benefits of handcrafted soap!!... Yes - this means I need to have a bit of a crystal ball to know when to restock soaps.. and this year, without regular markets, it has been particularly challenging! I have absolutely nailed the timing on these two beauties - new batches of Waridi and Upendo are just about to come off the curing rack, and ready to go for the upcoming @handmadecanberra online event next weekend!

I know we're still a way off being anywhere near back to normal as far as travel goes, but I'm thankful that my subconscious can take me there anyway!!... 11.01.2022 F R I E N D S H I P I had the honour of helping a customer surprise several friends with care packages over the weekend... a beautiful way to say "I'm thinking of you" and provide some treats to promote self-care during lockdown... These custom timber boxes from @sherlockdesigns are filled with a beautifully soft @bendigowoollenmills Daffodil cotton facecloth, crocheted by my amazing mum, a mini tube of Salme bath soak, and a Singo soap.. all topped off with a gorge...ous hand dyed raffia from @theraffiaconnection I love that I get to be part of the gift giving process.. and helping surprise friends and family with a deliver of goodies puts a smile on my dial, as well as the recipient's!!

11.01.2022 W I S H E S My 'genie lamp' was popular with the kiddies at Yarra Glen market today.. sadly the genie didn't make an appearance though! I think one of my wishes today would have been for the wind to stop - we certainly had some challenging weather all day.. I lost count at about 15 different season changes from rain to wind to sun and back again!... What would you wish for if the genie decided to appear from the lamp??
