08.01.2022 Still on the theme of understanding queer Muslims, and the breadth of opinion among queer Muslims. This piece articulates the orthodox position on the compatibility of homosexuality and Islam.

07.01.2022 Our first "Towards A Queer Islam?" panelist is Shaykh Nur Warsame. He has been described sensationally in the media as the first openly gay Muslim Imam in Australia. Nur is a qualified Imam, having committed the Qur'an to memory, and pursuing his Islamic education in Egypt. Here in Melbourne, Nur dedicates his time and effort to supporting the wellbeing of queer Muslims, founding Marhaba Melbourne, a support group for queer Muslims.

05.01.2022 We have had a few enquiries about the "Towards A Queer Islam?" event that we are in the process of organising. Specifically, there have been concerns expressed by people as to why we have chosen this topic, and our intentions behind our hosting this panel discussion. Watch this space.
