06.01.2022 SSM Clarification In light of recent discussions regarding Same Sex Marriage I contacted the Attorney Generals Office today. I was advised that until the Marriage Act is officially changed, Celebrants are NOT able to accept Notice of Intended Marriage forms from Same Sex couples. If the Marriage Act changes in the future, same sex couples will be able to submit their Notice and will be able to marry after the standard waiting period. I hope this provides some clarification.
