21.01.2022 An update from the National Disability Insurance Agency; CORE SUPPORT FLEXIBILITY Agency and plan-managed participants now have increased flexibility to use Core funding across all Core Support categories.... Participants with funding in their plan for at least one Core Support category no longer need to have $1 in a particular Core Support category to reallocate funds across the categories, including transport. The transport support category is now also flexible within the Core budget. However, participants who have elected to receive their transport funding as a periodic payment will not be able to use that funding flexibly as it is pre-paid. This does not impact on participants who will continue to receive their periodic payment for transport. Registered providers can still only claim for services and supports in their registration group. Service bookings only need to be updated if there is a change in a participant’s required supports.

16.01.2022 Welcome to my little business, as some of you may know, I assist people to manage their National Disability Insurance Scheme funding, and I would appreciate your support in liking my page and sharing with your network!

15.01.2022 Provider ABN required for plan-managed payment claims from 25 October From Sunday 25 October 2020 , plan managers are expected to include the provider’s Australian Business Number (ABN) when submitting a payment claim. The provider portal is being updated to include an ABN field for single and bulk payment requests.... As not all businesses are required to have ABNs, plan managers can select a ‘not applicable’ option when making a payment request. Plan managers will be contacted with more information. This change does not affect the delivery of services and plan-managed participants can continue to choose from registered and unregistered providers. This update will improve reporting and provide valuable insights.

15.01.2022 In keeping with national health advice, businesses and the community are beginning to ease restrictions and some temporary measures introduced by the NDIA in response to COVID-19 will also begin to return to normal procedures. Today the Minister for the NDIS, The Hon Stuart Robert, announced the first stages of a post-coronavirus NDIS, following a review of temporary measures to support participants and disability providers during the pandemic. The following will apply from ...1 July 2020: removal of the temporary 10 per cent price loading on certain core and capacity building supports the definition of short term cancellations reverts back to two business days. Providers will still be able to claim 100 per cent of the agreed support price for a cancellation at short notice, as introduced as part of the Annual Price Review the Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) period will return to the original policy of 90 days (rolled back from 180 days). An updated Price Guide 202021 is now available, to reflect the end of these temporary arrangements. The final price limits for 202021 are not yet known as this is dependent on the Fair Work Commission’s decision on minimum wages. The NDIA conducted regular monitoring of the market throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including through proactive provider engagement and looking at the impact of the pandemic to businesses and organisations. The NDIA will continue to monitor the market and respond to emerging issues. Recovery of the advance payment to providers will commence on 1 October 2020, via six equal monthly instalments. Next week, we will contact affected providers with more details on this process. The recovery method is designed to ensure providers retain cash flow and existing payment claims and remittance processes continue without change.

13.01.2022 The NDIS Price Guide and Support Catalogue 202021 are now in effect and the changes are live in the NDIS payment system. Providers and participants must discuss and agree on any updates before charging new price limits from 1 July 2020. Participant plan funds will be automatically indexed from 1 July 2020 to take into account the minimum wage decision of the Fair Work Commission and movement in the Consumer Price Index. This requires a systems update expected to occur on 11... July. Indexation will still apply from 1 July. COVID-19 PRICE LIMITS END ON 30-6-20 The Price Guide also reflects the end of some of the temporary arrangements introduced in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The following now applies: the temporary 10 per cent increase on price limits on certain core and capacity building supports ended 30 June and is now removed from the Price Guide cancellation timeframes revert to the previous allowances, rolled back from 10 days Medium Term Accommodation reverts to the original policy of 90 days, rolled back from 180 days.

06.01.2022 NDIA HAVE ANNOUNCED NEW CHANGES TO THE NDIS DURING THE COVID-19 PERIOD; The NDIA has just announced a sweeping changes to the operations of the NDIS in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These will have a huge (and likely positive) impact on every participant in the Scheme. Here is what we know so far: SUPPORT COORDINATION IN CORE With many people struggling to access their disability supports, Support Coordination has become an essential service and thankfully, the Agency... has recognised that. A new line item for Support Coordination has been added to Core. This will allow participants without Support Coordination funding (or who have used all of theirs up) to access the service through their Core budget. The Support Coordinator does not need to be registered to provide Core services. But people who are Agency managed will still need to use a registered provider. PLANS EXTENDED BY AT LEAST 12 MONTHS; The NDIA is saying that on the day a plan is due to expire, it will be automatically be extended by 365 days (replacing the previous 28 day rule). If a participant wishes to extend for 24 months, they can request this at the end of their plan and if people require more funds now to cover their critical needs through this time, they should request an unscheduled plan review.

04.01.2022 A support coordinator is a type of provider that can help you to understand and use the supports in your plan. Depending on your individual needs and goals, you may receive funding for support coordination. This video explains why you might have support coordination funded in your plan and how a support coordinator can help you. Tap for more information: https://bit.ly/3gPg1VP
