The outdoor performances of this exciting debut work by Artistic Director Zebastian Hunter, and devised with an all new Circus Monoxide professional ensemble, aXis. aXis launches with a performance created for public spaces as a direct response to Covid. It is designed to encourage engagement, reminding people of the benefits of art and culture in their everyday lives, and creating work that con...siders the safety requirements of our new normal. Circus and contemporary dance combine to create this thrilling, brand new acrobatic performance set to a stunning original composition of neo-classical music. As the amazing artists tumble, dance and contort their way through a bespoke 3.3m x 3.3m cube sculpture they create moments that are poignant, intense, playful and comic. Featuring 8 circus performers who have worked for companies including Cirque Du Soleil, Pippin, Cavalia, Circa, Circus Oz, Strut N Fret, Lido, 7fingers and Casus. The Construct is a celebration of the freedom and hope we have found in our new normal. 10.01.2022 The Active Kids program, part of the NSW government, is a program to encourage young people to be physically active, and provides vouchers for every NSW school attending child to take $100 off an activity, such as sport, or, circus. They were interested in our efforts to encourage disadvantaged young people to utilise this voucher so that they asked to video one of our classes. This is a class that has a number of Karenni children in it. The Karenni people have been forced out of Myanmar by war, and we are lucky that many of them have chosen to settle in Wollongong.

If you want to be fitter in 2021, the best way to keep going is to make sure that your fitness comes with fun, socialising, and, with an opportunity to develop some amazing skills. Circus also welcomes all people and bodies. Circus Monoxide is starting some morning fitness classes in February, as well as continuing our regular Circus Fit classes on Monday nights. These classes differ from a gym in that they are designed to help you tra...nsition to regular circus classes, and the exercises incorporate activities on real circus apparatus. So if you aim to be able to climb a rope to a ceiling, or be able to flip on the ground, or, to do anything that makes you even more amazing, then these classes may be for you.
