19.01.2022 We’ve just wrapped up an amazing week of courses. It was such a pleasure working with so many fantastic circus coaches. What a privilege to meet you all. Big thanks to Rachel from @roundaboutcircus for the kind words. #Repost... This #clavicalcruncher is aptly named and is not one for the sensitive souls. Thanks #circustrainingaustralia for another great week of teacher training courses. We are grateful for all the new material for our students. To anyone interested in teaching circus and aerials, I can't recommend the training highly enough. The course structure is excellent with clear progressions and thorough understanding and explanation of body mechanics.

19.01.2022 Exciting news! We’ve just released an online course in Functional Strength Training for circus - and you can get access for FREE! Just head to http://circustrainingaustralia.com.au/functional-strength-/ and enter your details to get access. Through this 5 part video course, you will learn a variety of exercises using circus equipment, that will improve your students’ strength in a dynamic and evidence-based manner. Each video focuses on integrating your students’ core muscle...s with other muscle groups important for training circus skills. What is functional strength training (FST)? FST is a type of strength training that is task and context specific, making it more meaningful to your students. It uses multiple joints and actions which emphasises core stability and trains your muscles to work together. For more information go to: http://circustrainingaustralia.com.au/functional-strength-/

18.01.2022 Teacher trainings winter edition is underway. We’ve had a great time with 24 students who have completed courses this weekend. . . All our gratitude goes out to the new faces who joined us on Saturday for brain overload day aka circus foundations (our theoretical focused course). Today 19 students tackled level 1 silks, hoop and trapeze. .... . Meanwhile we’ve also welcomed back coaches who are now tackling the level 8 and 9 of our silks and hoop curriculum. . . #Repost @kaitlinsacademy Miss Kaitlin and Miss Abbie are having the best time in Melbourne learning so much. @kaitlin_joyce_ @_abbiedalton

17.01.2022 Making juggling balls is a great complimentary activity to add to a circus workshop. It's easy and will give your participants something to take home with them.

16.01.2022 It can be tempting to put off planning time till after things slow down. But then you’ll be playing catch up once again. Planning for the new year can be done now, without taking up too much time, while still being effective. As coaches, we already have the skills to do this. It’s a combination of giving yourself feedback and setting SMART goals. Here's a 3 step method that you can implement in less than 30 minutes. http://circustrainingaustralia.com.au/3-steps-to-make-sure/

10.01.2022 Teaching beginners is arguably the most challenging demographic. Each student may be brand-new to the apparatus, but they bring with them a lifetime of experience in other sports and physical expression. (Yep, even 6 year olds have previous experiences). To ensure the long term success of your program, it is important to teach foundations well. While at the same time recognising each students background and individual needs. WHY TEACH TRAPEZE? - Trapeze is satisfyingly ‘circu...s’! Students will get a kick out of achieving skills they have seen in movies and circus's - Static Trapeze is the most accessible aerial apparatus for both children and adults alike - Beginner skills on Trapeze are closely related to many of the basic techniques for Aerial Hoop - Trapeze is fun, and very rewarding for students regardless of their fitness levels DOWNLOAD OUR TEACHING GUIDE FOR WORKING WITH BEGINNERS This four part series includes everything you need to run an engaging and challenging trapeze class for beginners.
