I remember teaching UPR (User Preferred Routes) about 15 or more years ago and have continued to do so as uni lecturer, flight instructor, flight examiner etc. Lots has changed in that relatively short span of time and we now here other acronyms such as PBN and RNP. Its fantastic that the technology is supporting our freedom as pilots but this are still many questions asked by many as things progress. The PBN AIC is a good little summary and handy reference. In the 10+ years we have been working for and teaching Cirrus we have watched the development of this and are glad it has finally made it to our shores.
