20.01.2022 Four of our female students from diverse backgrounds were awarded $1,000 scholarships from Soroptimist International Canberra Inc. They were selected for their academic achievements, leadership ability and community involvement. Jane Chimungeni-Brassington, President of the Soroptimist International Canberra Chapter, said "Education prepares women and girls for their future, so it is gratifying that our scholarships help CIT students fulfil their educational objectives." 11.01.2022 Congratulations to CIT apprentices Kurt Lomas and Brendan Pollard who have won the 2020 ACT CITC (Construction Industry Training Council) Award for Excellence in Electrical Trades! Kurt participated in the 2019 Renewable Energy study tour of Europe and Singapore. Watch Kurt and his fellow apprentices share highlights of their amazing trip.

10.01.2022 Our Hospitality and Events students recently hosted their first face-to-face events since the COVID-19 pandemic. The four charity events raised over $15,000 for QENDO, the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Canteen Australia and Pegasus Riding for the Disabled of the ACT. Event Management student Olivia said the support she received from CIT teachers was amazing. "Teachers give us the tools we need to be able to plan the event and then trust us to take the next step."... We’re very proud of our students’ great work! 09.01.2022 We had our annual Hospitality, Culinary and Tourism Awards last night to celebrate our students' achievements. Our Events students organised the night and our talented culinary teachers made the delicious canapés and petit fours. A big congratulations to all our award winners!

06.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held around Australia every year during July, this year NAIDOC was postponed to 8-15 November. This years theme is Always Was Always Will Be which 'recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years' (National NAIDOC). National NAIDOC are hosting some great online events, make sure you get involved!
