25.01.2022 Seven of the Hunter's 10 councils have committed to tackling climate change after Lake Macquarie City Council, Port Stephens Council and Cessnock City Council joined the Cities Power Partnership. Upon joining, councils pledge to take 5 actions on climate, and can include anything from rolling out solar panels to switching to sustainable transport. 22.01.2022 Inner West Council's Go Solar, a series of council-led community engagement initiatives, was this year’s Community Engagement award winner for its work increasing solar in the community by 11% in the year from 2018-9 to 2019-20. The UK Government will also spend 1.3 billion rolling out electric vehicle charge points. Drivers in the ACT will soon be able to access zero-interest loans and free registration for buying an electric vehicle (EV), making our Capital Territory the most EV-friendly jurisdiction in Australia!... Solar power is now regularly providing 50% of Western Australia’s electricity supply! Renewable energy records continue to be broken across the country as prices for solar and wind energy tumble. The Hunter Valley is set to become a renewable energy zone as part of the NSW Government's broad and ground-breaking plans to transition the state’s grid from coal to renewables.
