11.01.2022 A call out for anyone wanting to play this Saturday in the 1st game of the season as we are a couple short this Saturday. ------- It is the 1st day of a 2 day game - we just have a few people out due to injury, university exams, away for work, etc. but we are mostly ok for day 2 - although if you want to play both Saturdays I am sure we can accommodate you!

10.01.2022 Just a reminder that training is now on the Tuesday and Thursdays from 4:30pm-6pm - trying to start eary for a few weeks due to it getting too dark by 6pm. The weekend sessions were well attended as were the August Revo indoor sessions. Hope to see you down there!... (and it won't be as wet as th pic - that was the last day of the season 2 years ago!)

09.01.2022 Remember to stay in your crease until the ball is dead guys. https://www.twitter.com/cricketc/status/1326017808858193920

09.01.2022 Round 2 Day 1 for 4th grade was washed out last weekend - so this weekend turned into a 40 over per side 1 day game on a fairly quick outfield and another newly laid pitch. --- We loss the toss and batted 1st so we went again with the same opening partnership, but unfortunately Dave Hart couldn't follow up his 100 from round 1. But Ram and Trevor Hart put on a 64 run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Ram was out lbw for 32. --- Captain Mark Barwood got a couple through t...he infield before being caught and was followed soon afterwards by Trevor for 36 to have us 4-84 in the 21st over. --- Vinay Patel got a couple of boundaries before being caught and bowled for 10. Trent McSweeney joined Josh Monaghan and they put together a 53 run partnership off about 8 overs when Trent was caught for 17 at 6-159. --- By this time Josh was flying as he was whacking the ball to all points of the field including a big 6 flicked over square leg. Josh brought up his 50 with an all-run four for a ball that just failed to reach the boundary. The under the weather Vinay Vekaria hit a couple of nice 3s before run out on the 2nd last ball of the innings pushing for the extra runs. --- Star of the innings was Josh who finished with a 3 on the last ball to end up at 69no and the team score at a very handy 7-195. --- We again failed to get an early wicket with Al Becker and Trent McSweeney opening the bowling but scoring was limited which was handy with Carlisle needing 5 runs an over to just keep up with our score. --- Trevor Hart broke the partnership rattling the stumps, closely followed by Mark Barwood removing the other opener and Trev picking up a 2nd to have them at 3-46. --- They put on a bit of a partnership before Mark picked up another 2 to finish his spell at 3-22 with them needing 97 off the last 10 overs which they never looked likely to get and Al Becker picked up a well deserved wicket. --- So we ended up with a 61 run win to go 2-0 for the season which is a handy start in shortened season and one where a double chance final series - so a top 2 finish would be handy. --- Scorecard https://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pa/public/rv/match.aspx See more

09.01.2022 Well done again Dave & Drew! (This used to share the PSCA runs highlights from Round 1, but they seem to have deleted it)

07.01.2022 News on this season's fixtures that have now been published in myCricket (Link is at the bottom of this post) -- We play away from home for the first 2 games (partly due to the Icehouse concert on the ovals that was rescheduled from earlier this year due to the Covid outbreak --- But the good news is we play all our home games together and it will be 8 of the 15 days of regular season cricket at City Beach Lower in:... Round 3 (2 dayer) Round 6 (1 dayer) Round 7 (1 dayer) Round 9 (2 dayer) Round 10 (2 dayer) Also both teams play away at the same grounds v Swan View (1 dayer). --- http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pages/public/rv/draw.aspx

07.01.2022 With our last one day game for the season coming up - please let us know if you are available if you haven't already. Training tomorrow will be moved to McLean Park in Floreat just for this week due to an event at City Beach. Same time as usual - see you there

06.01.2022 Just a bit of information on the upcoming season - due to all the Covid kerfuffle the season will be starting a few weeks later than usual - it will be the weekend AFTER the AFL Grand Final. That makes the 1st game on 31 October - which gives a few more weeks of pre-season training to get the cobwebs out. Especially all you 1st XI guys - we need to see you down at Tuesday and/or Thursday training from 4:30pm-6pm. Also - this season the format will be a little different with ...6 teams in each grade making finals a little more within reach for everyone. Each team will play each other in a 1 dayer and 2 dayer as per usual. It will still be a top 4 with the old finals format (for this season only) of 1v2 and 3v4 and then a prelim final and then a Grand Final. This change was partly due to Leederville moving Associations to the Northern Suburbs Community Cricket Association.

04.01.2022 Call out to any player(s) for the 1 dayer tomorrow - both teams will be playing at home (City Beach Oval) ------ Due to a number of reasons including work commitments & injury we are a player short. ----- If you are able to help us out or know someone who wants a game let us know.... -- Thanks See more

04.01.2022 If you are looking for a custom dog drinking bowl for your furry friend for Xmas... a former player Marc Spadaccini creates these in a number of shapes and sizes.

03.01.2022 Just another reminder that training this afternoon is at McLean Park in Floreat (just west of Floreat Forum). -- Parking on Chandler Ave. The usual time of ~4.30-6.10pm with cold drinks to cool the body afterwards. --- See you there.

03.01.2022 Just a reminder that the Good For Cricket WA Raffle is coming to a close in the next couple of weeks. --- Just a $5 raffle ticket for a chance to win a Toyota Corolla Hybrid Ascent Sport 1.8L Auto CVT Hatch (RDP: $31,525) - it is only a WA raffle. https://toyotagoodforcricketwa.raffletix.com.au/cbgrcc?q=buy ----... All funds go to the club - so if you haven't paid full fees (in which case you paid for $50 worth of tickets) feel free to buy a few to support the club and/or share this post to get family members & friends to help our fundraising. See more

03.01.2022 We thought it timely to mention the statistics as they are before the season gets going. The image is the top 20 in runs... although the smarter cricketer (I am told) will be heading straight to the bowling statistics! ---- You can access here:... http://cbgrcc.wa.cricket.com.au/content.aspx and browse for: Overall Stats, 1st XI Stats, Finals Stats, Grand Final Stats See more

02.01.2022 Round 2... 2 dayer today and next Saturday ---------------- 4th Grade v Carlisle at Carlisle Reserve 6th Grade BYE --------------... 4th grade rocked up and quickly found the new synthetic pitch was wet - esp on the creases. --- It was very slowly drying with the radar showing rain coming - which was enough for the umpire to pull the stumps without a toss being performed or any play. --- It proved to be a correct call as the wet stuff came down about 20 minutes later. --- So it reverts to a one day game next week ... possibly under 2 day rules. See more

02.01.2022 Round 3 - 4th Grade v Ellenbrook @ City Beach Lower ------- We won the toss and decided to bowl in the nice conditions and picked up an early wicket for a change as captain Mark Barwood got an edge through to Dorro after opening the bowling with Trent McSweeney. Ellenbrook then put a partnership together before Trevor Hart got the other opener out lbw and then bowled the no.4 who shouldered arms to see the off stump get removed. A mini 4th wicket partnership was ended by a c...atch to Trent off Trevor to have them at 4-93. --- Unfortunately a 74 run partnership ensued helped along by our 3 dropped catches of the innings. Once the partnership was ended the drought was broken with the innings being cleaned up for 180 with Mark finishing with 6-31 off 13.5 overs and a wicket to Josh Monaghan. --- We had an hour to bat but after a solid start to Dave Hart and Gareth King we damaged our fight back into the game to finish at 4-27 - needing another 154 off the remaining 70 overs. Fortunately we still have a decent amount of batting to come. --- Scorecard: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx ============== Round 3 - 6th Grade v Mt Lawley Inglewood @ City Beach Upper ---------- After the bye in Round 2 - our boys won the toss and chose to bat - Dave Jamieson (19) and Ray Hart (16) put together a good start to the innings before they and Warren Gandy were all out to leave us at a wobbly 3-43. --- A circumspect Tristan Showers (14) and Darren Thompson set about reconstructing the innings before Tristan was out at 4-70. Wade Croome and Darren then continued with the partnership of the innings of 59 before both were out for 32. --- Jordan Brock (24) and Brandon Sheiles (13) then pushed us towards a decent score with Dave Townsend and Brodie Fowles seeing us to our 70 overs allotted and a good score of 8-194 on a slowish ground. --- Scorecard: http://mycricket.cricket.com.au//pag/public/rv/match.aspx See more

01.01.2022 With Covid the season started late this season so we had the most pre-season training ever. We also knew with the shorter season that we needed to get off to a good start unlike recent seasons to try and give ourselves a chance of a top 2 and double chance finish. ==================== 4th Grade - Day 1 --- 4th Grade headed off to Midland to play possibly WA's oldest cricket club Middle Swan at Jack Mann Oval. With a spate of injuries in the pre-season (did we train too hard...Continue reading
