23.01.2022 Rotarians Max Carey and Kevin Sharp encourage others to take part in the Bowelscan program, which is taking place again in May. But 2017 will be last year Rotar...y will be involved in making Bowelscan testing kits available. Rotary has made these kits available each year for 30+ years. In that time, many people have been diagnosed with bowel cancer and that early diagnosis has helped save their lives. With kits being supplied by the government to over 50s at five year intervals, this is the last year Rotary will be involved in making Bowelscan testing kits available. Take this opportunity to purchase a kit. This simple test could provide early detection which could save your life. Ninety per cent of bowel cancer can be cured if detected early.

07.01.2022 Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove launched a campaign to raise $500,000 to fund human trials for their PlasProtecT vaccine for malaria to provide a long-lasting immunity. Rotary District 9640 has partnered with Griffith University Institute for Glycomics to raise funds for the Malaria Vaccine Project (https://malariavaccineproject.com) Mutations in malaria mean that current vaccines have only a short-lived protection period. The protection provided by this vaccine is highl...y resistant to mutation and will provide long term protection. If you wish to donate you can do so here: https://malariavaccineproject.com/change-a-life-make-a-don/ . Donations are tax deductible.
