25.01.2022 In this time of social distancing and lock-downs, many services have had difficulty adjusting and continuing to offer their services. This has even affected our Justice Of The Peace community with the regular community desks at Libraries, shopping centres and others being closed. In addition to this, some JPs have legitimate concerns about providing service which requires relatively close contact with strangers. This has left many people concerned about how they can get docu...ments witnessed, certified etc. CityLife Community Initiatives is hosting a JP service desk each Tuesday afternoon. Effective immediately. This is available for anyone who needs the services of a Justice of the Peace. Appointments MUST be made by telephone to assist with the safety issues.

These are unprecedented times and we understand that many may feel unsure or isolated at this time. WE ARE STILL HERE We are still here to provide community and support. ... The following points are to help you at this time and to give you assurance that we are still committed to you, your families and your well-being. 1. We ARE still offering support for ADHD and ASD families. We are available via phone calls and/or online meetings using FaceTime, Zoom or Skype. 3. We ARE committed to supporting you through this time. 4. Please continue to follow us via our pages and groups. We will be providing ongoing information and hints and tips along the way.

23.01.2022 Illawarra Suicide Prevention and Awareness Network (iSPAN) is a group of people from various sections of the community and also from other community services in the Illawarra. iSPAN brings together those who want to help find ways to see the rate of suicide in the Illawarra reduced. This video is the first in a series of weekly Live broadcasts. The aim of the broadcast is to provide useful information and to showcase various services in our area that can assist in the mental well-being of community members.

23.01.2022 In this time of COVID-19 what are you doing to feed your soul and protect against worry. I'm interested in how others are doing this. Meanwhile, I'm not watchi...ng too much news, just enough to get the facts. I'm avoiding the plethora of disinformation and not spending as much time on social media. And to give you all a good feel for the day. Here is a cute picture of my own personal lab treatment.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone. As we are not able to hold our monthly meeting this Tuesday, and we haven't yet set up for web-based meeting, I thought I would do an update "Live"... on facebook at the regular meeting time of 10am Tuesday morning (14th April). It will be an opportunity for me to let you all know how we can continue our good work in the community and to announce what may be a very useful online event. Please join me tomorrow - and if you can't then you can watch it later and send through any feedback that you have. It will be very important for services within the Illawarra to watch so that you can work with us to be effective in our communities during what may well be an extended lockdown. See you at 10am online Brian Boulton Chairman Illawarra Suicide Prevention and Awareness Network

11.01.2022 A reminder that a JP service is available at the Citylife building every Tuesday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. Pass this on to your networks (ie; "share" it - dont just "like" it). We are experienced in working with clients who may be experiencing a number of stressors and we can help by making the legal bits (like stat decs, certifying copies etc.) a little less intimidating. Feel free to accompany clients if necessary - social distancing and sanitising is all in place for the safety of JPs, volunteers and clients.

04.01.2022 Wishing a very Happy Christmas to all, and a big Thank You to all the volunteers who have been CCI in action this year. We are looking forward to a great year ahead as we serve our community together.

04.01.2022 Just a reminder - this weekend while many of us enjoy the chance to "get away" for a break, remember those who are still afraid to go out. Maybe they have mental health issues that keep them afraid or maybe they are alone and often forgotten as we go about our leisure. Maybe they have genuine concerns for their health if they are older or vulnerable because of pre-existing health issues. Take a moment to give someone a call and ask how they are tracking. See if you can get so...mething for them for the weekend - maybe take them a meal so that they can have a break from cooking, or order a meal to be delivered. We need to take care of each other this weekend - not just ourselves. HAVE A GREAT TIME - whatever it is you do, and stay safe!
