24.01.2022 A regular Anzac Day for the Band starts with dawn services at Kingston Beach & Bruny, before heading to Lenah Valley RSL & then into Hobart for the main parade & commemoration at the Cenotaph. This year it will be driveways at dawn. Lest we forget.
21.01.2022 Some snaps of Kingston Beach Anzac Services over the last few years
21.01.2022 Pipe Bands Tasmania is pleased to introduce Tasmania's new and returning Vice-Principals of the Australian Pipe Band College. Piping - Garry Fletcher Drumming ...- Dougal McConnell Drill & Dress - Tony Coen Rules & Administration - Tony Bidgood, OAM, RFD, ED. We are grateful to have this prodigious depth of experience available to us here. Thank you all for taking on your positions! Attached to their pictures are bios of each of our Vice-Principals. We also take this time to acknowledge the massive contributions of our recently-retired Vice-Principals, Iain Campbell (Piping) and Gary Webb (Drumming). Thank you both for your service!
17.01.2022 The essential distinction between tachums and tichums. Some great advice for pipers.
16.01.2022 One of the favourite days on our parade calendar each year is Anzac Day, a chance to commemorate & remember all those who served. The Band normally plays at several community services each year on 25 April - sadly this year, this won’t be happening so we thought we might share some images of previous Anzac parades in the lead up to Saturday. Lest we forget.
13.01.2022 After almost 9 months, we’ve finally got the band back together A few sets on pipes & drums tonight (phew) certainly got us working hard after easing back these past few weeks on chanters/pads. And if you’ve tried bread baking & knitting thru iso & looking for something new to get stuck in to, we welcome new members, so drop us a line
13.01.2022 A really popular day on our band calendar - we’ll be looking forward to 2022
12.01.2022 From their front yards, a few of our pipers played Amazing Grace at 11am as a tribute to those who have served Australia in conflict and peace. With the cancellation of ANZAC commemorations and marches due to coronavirus restrictions, our pipers are among many musicians in communities who will be honouring the ANZAC spirit in a new way this year and the amazing work of frontline health workers today in the battle against the pandemic.
08.01.2022 Anzac Day 70s style (thanks Paul Munday)
