22.01.2022 GOOD ON YA GORDON Merimbula Lions volunteer Gordon Matthews has been helping at the evacuation centre in Bega for four days straight. He usually starts at 6...AM helping direct traffic, unloading supplies and answering questions from evacuees before finishing at 11 PM at night. He said there’s plenty of water and food at the centre. We have bucketloads of bottled water. I reckon we’ve got enough to irrigate the Bega Valley. ABC: Adriane Reardon

18.01.2022 Our treasurer, Julie, is pictured handing over a cheque for $5,000.00 to the Australian Lions Foundation (ALF) disaster relief appeal for bushfire victims to th...eir chairperson Tony Benbow. The ALF has so far raised approximately $950,000 with around $625,000 distributed throughout fire affected regions to date. Lions are proud of the fact that 100 percent of all donations go directly assisting those in need. They don't take 1 cent out for administration. Thank you to our tiny community for your ongoing support of our club. Without your support we couldn't do what we do, assisting those in their time of need. If you would like to assist and donate please let us know and we will see that your donation goes to the those that deserve it. Proud to be a Lion. See more

Join us in sharing a #WaveforVolunteers as we say a big thank you to our 28,000 Lions, Lionesses and Leos. #NVW2020 Volunteering Australia Pictured (clockwise from top): Lions Australia 2019-20 Council Chairperson Kim Forrest Lions Australia Executive Officer Rob Oerlemans Australian Lions Hearing Dogs CEO David Horne and Wynne Lions Australia Finance and Operations Manager Max Shirley and son Daniel Lions Australia Public Relations Officer Hannah Mills

09.01.2022 Lots of things may have been cancelled, but nature is still very much open. Let's practice physical distancing while nurturing our Earth and getting some fresh ...air. If every member of Lions Australia planted one tree over the coming months - that would be around 30,000 new trees. #WeServe #YouCanToo See more

01.01.2022 In times of uncertainty, it's important to still feel connected to our members and communities. As we advise all clubs to follow the government's official advic...e and adhere to social distancing, face-to-face meetings may not be possible over the coming months. But this does not have to mean that we lose touch with fellow members and friends. Over the coming days we'll be sharing some ideas for staying connected during this time. Our first tip is an easy one and it's all about keeping those lines of communication open. Utilise free video conferencing technology like Zoom, FaceTime or Skype to hold meetings or catch up with family and friends. Or if these aren't an option for you - simply offer to be that listening ear that many might be needing right now. How is your club planning to stay connected? #WeServe #StayConnected See more
