24.01.2022 Council services will be restricted in Mitcham Council's high fire risk area tomorrow, Friday 27 November, as a fire danger rating of Extreme has been declared. Domestic waste may be collected. Council will continually monitor the conditions to ensure the safety of our community and waste truck operators. This may result in changes to waste collection, for example the time your waste is usually collected. 21.01.2022 Just in time for summer, a project to install a new toilet block at Hillview Reserve, Colonel Light Gardens, was officially opened last week. The block includes a unisex ambulant facility and a unisex accessible facility. As part of the project, an accessible path network and drinking fountain and dog bowl were installed. The toilets will be open seven days from 7.30am to 7pm. Home of the Colonel Light West Tennis Club, Hillview Reserve is located at Penang Avenue and has eight tennis courts, a gazebo, a community hall, picnic tables, seating and junior playground including swings see saw and play station. 17.01.2022 This week our street sweeper is sweeping in Hawthorn and Kingswood before moving into Eden Hills and Blackwood. The White Cedar street sweeping program begins 6 October and focuses on streets lined with trees that drop an excessive amount of berries. 01.01.2022 With the Fire Danger Season fast approaching, we've begun our annual bushfire fuel reduction, slashing and brush cutting program. We reduce fuel loads throughout the hills both before and during the season by removing vegetation, creating fuel breaks, extensive brush cutting and burning of debris on-site.
