22.01.2022 We will advocate to federal and State Government representatives for the restoration of speedy local mail services in WA, following a decision by Council at its meeting last night. We'll be calling for the restoration of daily, weekday postal deliveries across the City, and for the restoration of Saturday opening hours across local Australia Post outlets. Council’s decision follows several changes Australia Post made earlier this year to its services to accommodate the shift towards digital communication and the significant growth in parcel delivery. Key changes included letter deliveries in the Perth metropolitan area being reduced to every second day as well as some local Australia Post branches no longer operating on a Saturday. 20.01.2022 Don’t forget to use the CoastSnap stand at Mersey Point as it starts to heat up this summer. Earlier this year, we installed a CoastSnap stand on Mersey Point Jetty in Shoalwater as part of our involvement in the Peron Naturaliste Partnership. The stand provides a platform for community members to snap images of the beach from a fixed position using their smartphones and share the images via social media. These photos provide valuable information on coastal morphology, beach state, beach width, and shoreline position. We’d like to thank all of those who’ve already taken photos and encourage you to keep snapping! Repeated photos allow us to see how the coast changes with time and in response to storm events.

It will give community members the opportunity to create a greener home and reduce the amount of waste they produce by using composting.
