09.01.2022 Two draft Local Planning Policies are currently open for your feedback. Weve worked with a community working group to review these policies. Local Planning Policy 2 looks at apartments in medium and high density areas and specifically addresses areas that were recently increased in density (transition areas) and higher density areas adjoining low density neighbourhoods (interface areas). A Local Planning Policy cant conflict with LPS5 or R-Codes, and cant impose restri...ctions that would limit how much can be built on a lot, but it can shift the bulk of development away from low density areas. Draft Local Planning Policy 2 uses a combination of building height and setback provisions to shift the bulk of new development away from low density lots and from existing houses in areas that have had their density increased as part of LPS5. Read the information sheet outlining the changes proposed in this draft policy, and have your say before 10 September.
