12.01.2022 We are looking for volunteer Community Bus Drivers, Helpers and Community Transport Drivers to join our dedicated and loyal teams. Our Community Bus program - provides a reliable and efficient door to door service for members of our community, picking them up from their homes and transporting them to a range of destinations. Community Bus Driver:... You will need a minimum of a Light Rigid Licence and a thorough knowledge and understanding of Australian road rules and regulations. You will also need excellent customer service skills, be a team player, be flexible, be able to interact with passengers in a sensitive manner and have the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people. Community Bus Helper: Helpers and Drivers volunteer together assisting passengers to board and disembark the bus and assisting them with their bags. You must be physically able to bend, stretch, reach and lift, volunteer effectively as a team player, be able to interact with passengers in a sensitive manner and have the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people. Our CHSP Community Transport program - involves taking clients to and from their residence (in either your own personal vehicle or in a Council provided vehicle) to medical related appointments and or/recreational and social activities. On occasion you may be required to assist the clients into the location of their appointment or activity. CHSP Community Transport Driver: You need to have a current driver’s licence, thorough knowledge of current road rules and regulations, knowledge of the City of Unley area, excellent communication and customer service skills and be punctual and reliable. The City of Unley believes that residents who are frail, aged or have a disability should remain in the familiar environment of their own homes and community for as long as possible and these programs make the difference between people being socially isolated and being able to participate in opportunities that provide them with fun, connection and friendship.
