Engineer, teacher and a champion of change Mr Hart has always encouraged his students at Kedron State High School to consider a degree in STEM a...nd has recently guided them to create their own rocketry society after they were inspired by our WE Explore Day rocket workshops in May "My older sister studied engineering and my mother trained as a doctor in London during the second world war, so I had strong, competent, technically trained women in my life....More work is needed to both remove the last vestiges of misogyny from the profession and to promote engineering careers to the many capable young women in our schools. The UQ WE program is helping to achieve both of those ends and a large part of that is by exposing female students to engineering students at UQ and having them spend time with working female engineers through activities such as the WE Explore days and visiting our campus."

07.01.2022 ******** FREE Creative Arts Group ********** **** for 8-12 years old ****5x Thursday Nights ********Pizza provided (please advise allergies)************Help to ...advance knowledge of the link between art and health Dear friends, parents/families, As you may or may not know, I am a Senior Occupational Therapist at Metro South Health (Queensland Government) Child and Youth Mental Health Service. I will soon be running a free creative activities group for 5 weeks at our Logan Central office, for children aged 8-12 years. It will be on a Thursday night (shopping night) between 3-6pm. It is part of a research I am doing with the University of Queensland to explore the link between creative activities engagement and mental/psycho-emotional wellbeing in young people. The group will be delivered by qualified mental health clinicians and university/art therapy students on clinical placement, supervised or co-facilitated with me. Participation is voluntary with parental/guardian consent. There are a few survey forms to fill out for the research throughout. Pizza will be provided at each session and a memento and certificate for participants who completed the group. Confidential and privacy are respected and upheld at all times.
