25.01.2022 Hi, Halloween is done and we're on the home stretch to xmas now! So remember, full custom framing is not a while you wait or even next day service, current turn around time is two weeks, so PLEASE don't leave your xmas framing requirements to the last minute, come and see us now! (new gallery piece pictured below represents the battle scenes common to last minute xmas shopping)

25.01.2022 PhotoAccess will have a table at the ‘Photographic Fiesta’ tomorrow! Swing by for a chat about our program or workshops. We might even have some free equipment... #camerfair #analogphotography #analogcamera #shootfilm

24.01.2022 WE ARE BACK! well actually we've been quietly getting back to full steam over the last two weeks, even such a short break is quite disruptive. Briefly drowning in a backlog of film that rushed in when we opened the door (close to 200 rolls through since we re-opened!), but back on top of it now and back to regular film turnaround and framing production, current turn around time is two weeks for full custom framing and most films that come in before lunch will go out same day. We've even found time to restock the gallery, latest additions being these two stunners from Audrey Kawasaki, available now!

24.01.2022 New gallery stock just arrived!! Exciting stuff for old geeks like me, featuring Princess Bride, Ghost in the Shell, Star Wars, Cowboy Beebop, Trigun, Big Trouble in Little China, Daft Punk, and an incredible Akira piece that won't last long. Will be framing and putting out in the gallery over the next few weeks but if you are quick you can always get in first and have it framed to your own specifications!

24.01.2022 with Game of Thrones finally at an end we are at last ready to say goodbye to these bad boys. An original, framed, matching number set of six house banners by Rhys Cooper which we've only being willing to part with as a set in the past, we're now offering them individually at $350 each, be quick though a lot of people have been waiting for this!

22.01.2022 due to popular (incessant) demand we''re going to try and get with the times, to that end we now have an instagram account (baby steps)

22.01.2022 Rainy day blues? Us too as another week comes to a close for the Canlab and Proframe team, but feeling good as we did manage to process a record amount of film here onsite this week, been doing our best to keep up with the client custom framing queue despite supply chain delays from our Melbourne supplier, and even found time to work on a few gallery pieces (like this beautiful example) to fill the gaps on the walls - that are a little empty right now as pieces were flying out the door throughout July.

22.01.2022 we're baaack. Well Tuesday (5th May) to be exact. With relaxing of restictions announced today allowing people to shop for non essentials, we'll be reopening our doorsnon Monday. Hours will be limited initiall, 10am to 4pm just until we can get everyone back on deck. Thank you for your patience and co-operation with the restrictions to date which has done such an amazing job of controlling the spread so far. Please remember we to keep doing as much as possibe to stay safe and healthy, we really don't want to be forced to close our doors again!

21.01.2022 TWO Long weekends in a row?? How did we get so lucky, maybe it has something to do with these amazing prints from Tom Lewis we got in for the gallery. At any rate that means we will be doing our usual dissapearing act and be closed Saturday AND Monday this weekend AND Next! Apologies for the inconvenience.

21.01.2022 That's not a moon... or a mouse, it's just an example of the cool limited edition prints we have framed and hanging in our gallery which would make perfect xmas presents! Please note this is probably the last week we will be taking in custom framing jobs to be completed before xmas, so don't delay - come see us today!

20.01.2022 Hi, just a final reminder that tomorrow, Saturday 4th April will be the last chance for clients to collect completed framing or films before we close our doors indefinitely. Hopefully it will just be a temporary hibernation but there are really no gurantees, I suspect many small businesses will struggle to see this through and we are certainly no exception, thanks to all our fantastic customers for your support! PS. Althought the sign on the door says collections only, we will extend that tomorrow to gallery purchaes if there is something there you've had you eye on and want to grab so you have something to look at through lock down!

19.01.2022 We have lift off!! we'll we're blasting off out of here at least :) So please be advised we will be closed tomorrow (good friday) and ALL of next week, not returning till April 29th!! Sorry for the inconvenience but lets be honest, no one wants to be in Canberra next week. We will be back, well rested and in tip top shape to help you with all your custom framing needs, and providing onsite film developing again from Monday 29th April, so come and see us then, especially if you want to grab some fantastic pieces by Trevor Dickinson from our gallery, like this latest piece that has featured heavily in the Heritage Festival marketing.

19.01.2022 Hi, we've been slaving away for the last couple of weeks to make sure all the xmas presents get out on time and its looking good, everything due for xmas should be ready to collect by Friday, but please be aware Saturday is our last day for the year, once we close the door at 2.30pm this Saturday we will not be back uni till January 7th! Also be advised we will not be printing photos or developing film this Friday or Saturday as we start getting the lab equipment ready for the break! Wishing all our customers a very merry christmas and a happy new year!

19.01.2022 Christmas/New Year Closure Our last day of trading for 2020 will be Wednesday 23rd Dec, and we will re-open for business Monday 11th January. We're currently winding down, last batch of film through for the year going through and waiting for people to collect their xmas framing, thanks for all your support throughout 2020, look forward to seeing you all again in the new year!

18.01.2022 Hi! We've been super busy with film this week, over one hundred rolls since Monday!! Many from disposable cameras handed out to guests at weddings, the success rate of which is prompting us to make a public service announcement. CANLAB"S TOP THREE TIPS FOR DISPOSABLE CAMERAS AT WEDDINGS!! 1. Educate your guests on how to use the flash!! Sometimes it fiddly and tricky on disposables, so make a big show (like an airline safety demo) of how to use it properly, else you'll get r...oll after roll of darkness from an indoors reception. 2. Provide incentive for them to take FUN shots, announce a prize for most entertaining roll developed (remember to put names on the cameras), else suffer hundreds of expensive, boring, snapshots. 3. Instruct guests not to waste effort trying to get the money shots the official photographer is there to get, they'll probably just get in the way and unlikely to get worthwhile shots anyway. Just follow those three tips and you can be confident the money spent developing and printing/scanning all those cameras won't be wasted!! (One further tip for wedding planners, forget the guest book, come to us and get a custom mat border cut for people to sign, which you can then in turn use in framing your favourite wedding photo!)

18.01.2022 Hi there! Sorry we've been quiet for so long, had a bit of a mid winter rush on custom framing keeping our noses to the grindstone for quiet a while now, just a reminder if you want to have something custom framed for dad for fathers day, don't leave it to the last minute, standard turnaround for full custom framing is two weeks. Also been very busy on the photo lab side of business, don't forget we still develop colour film (35mm, 120 and disposables) in house every weekday!... We do have new gallery stock coming in though, amazing art from some artists we haven't featured before as well as old favourites Shag, Mark Ryden, Tom Lewis, Rhys Cooper, and we'll try to get it all on the wall as soon as possible. . Cheers

18.01.2022 Winter is coming! well its here in fact and we're getting ready to escape, just a reminder we are being forced to close our doors from 22nd June till 10th July to accommodate the building works going on upstairs. (Also, you won't catch us this weekend, we're closed Saturday and Monday as per our usual habit of disappearing for long weekends.) In the winter theme, here is the perfect gift for the Game of Thrones fan with a lot of bare wallspace, a matching number set of Rhy Cooper's original six GoT Banner screen prints, sitting in the gallery now!

18.01.2022 Brief reminder today is the last day we're taking in custom framing jobs for guaranteed pre christmas completion! So take advantage of the Canberra centres new $2 flat weekend parking rates and come see us quickly, we're only open till 2.30 today! Still plenty of reasons to come by between now and christmas though, a gallery full of cool artwork and a few consignments of brand new limited edition prints coming in, for fans of Rhys Cooper artwork have just got a couple tubes of assorted hard to find prints in.

16.01.2022 been a quiet week to be sure, just means we finally have some time to get some new pieces into the gallery. If you are panic buying everything else just in case of lockdown, why not come by and panic buy some of these awesome pieces so you have something to look at while you're locked up for weeks on end....

15.01.2022 Get along and check it out! they look so impressive in the extra large A1 size. Trevor will have a little pop up store over at cmag for the duration of the exhibition with prints in all size editions and other merch such as playing cards, coffee cups and fridge magnets. Be sure to bring any prints you purchase down to us, we offer a 10% discount on custom framing of Trev's work. (We also usually carry a good stock of his prints in the larger sizes as well as his ORIGINAL drawings)

15.01.2022 Two frames are better than one! Coloured mats are not the only way to incorporate a little colour in your framing, in this piece we're doing for the gallery today we introduce a peachy highlight with a petite colour frame nested inside the larger distressed timber moulding..

14.01.2022 Could this be the safest shopping experience in Canberra? we think so, with 4.5 meter high ceiling and over 150sqm of floorspace, seldom shared by more than five people you can remain socially distant while browsing the gallery, and stay safely across the broad redgum consult desk as we plan your custom framing. We open on the the bright outdoors of City Walk and have plenty of open air parking right behind the shop (behind the increasingly empty YHA) so you needn't rub shoulders with anyone getting here! :) - did I mention Chris has been has been keeping his itchy trigger finger on the Glen20 spray disinfectant as well. (and seriously please try to continue to support your local small businesses as much as possible to help ensure some of them make it through the tough times that lie ahead for all of us!)

14.01.2022 ""You never can tell" what will turn up in our gallery next, like this Pulp Fiction tribute by Shag..... also a lot of people are telling us they can't tell if we're open lately with all the construction hemming us in, but we're here open for business( and the construction will all be gone in a matter of weeks ) so do drop for all your custom framing needs.

14.01.2022 Holiday Closure! Monday 23rd is our last day of business for 2019! Closed 24th Dec - 5th January Reopen Monday 6th January

14.01.2022 Feeling inspired! Not every day a living legend walks into your shop, recently we were honoured to put this little display together for a spritely 97 year old whose life is the stuff movies are made from.. quite literally... if you've ever seen A Bridge Too Far our customer was one of the 30,000 British paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines in Operation Market Garden!! Post war he life was just as impressive, coming to Australia and working on the Snowy Mountains scheme before settling in Canberra where he's devoted his life to social services!!

14.01.2022 Howdy, just a reminder we're still here in these crazy times, for a safer shopping experience you need look no further, get out of the congested malls and stroll down city walk in the fresh air and pop in to see us some time. As always we're happy to help with all your custom framing needs, we still develop colour film (35mm, 120 and disposable cameras) right here onsite, and have a fun gallery full of cool stuff like these three pieces from artist Jed Henry...

13.01.2022 from Bus Shelters to Acton Busses and now our Light Rail, we're proud to encourage Trevor Dickinson's obsession with our public transport by framing up this beautiful new signed limited edition A1 size print for our gallery, available now!

11.01.2022 Hi, we've just had a visit from the amazing Heidi Smith, she is currently clearing house of a lot of her fantastic analog camera gear which includes Nikon FM2 and beautiful Leica M3 with light meter and two amazing Rollei medium format kits such as this extensive 6008 kit pictured below! Please contact us if you would like more details of whats availble or to inspect any items. We also have a few copies of her book ""A Portrait of Canberra and Canberrans"which makes an ideal xmas gift!

11.01.2022 Finally! with a little bit of help this past week from the wonderful Julia we have managed to restock the gallery which has been sadly bare since xmas. With new pieces from Lora Zombie, Tim Doyle, and Jed Henry to name few, get in quick as the first two pieces we hung last night sold this morning!

11.01.2022 wow, is that the time, we're outta here. Apologies for the inconvenience but we won't be around for the long weekend, closed Saturday AND Monday to catch our breath after a frantic first couple of weeks back on deck (200 rolls of film and a tonne of custom framing through the doors) So busy in fact we might be needing some help, if you have a keen interest in what we do and are looking for casual or permanent part time work feel free to send through a CV and tell us why you think you make a great framer. Cheers

10.01.2022 Happy New Year! despite being pretty busy on our first week back developing over one hundred rolls of film we still managed to find time not only to do our customers framing but also get a few fun new things framed up to hang in the gallery. Shown here are some new pieces from Shag, Tim Doyle, Blunt Graffix, and Brian Viveros that are available now!

10.01.2022 in accordance with current advice we will be closed for regular business this week but will allow collections of completed works, please adhere to most recent guidelines and do not enter our premises in groups and if you can see another customer is already collecting work please just take a short walk around city walk and give them five minutes

09.01.2022 sorry we missed you! we're taking the whole long weekend off, so will be closed Sat 7th and Monday 9th, getting back into the swing of things returning to normal business hours on Tuesday when we'll get back to turning out your custom framing pieces and filling the gallery with awesome little treats like this little guy....

09.01.2022 Hi, been a while I know, we've been super busy the last couple of months with custom framing and a ton of photolab work coming through - but need to make sure everyone knows that our good friend Trevor Dickinson, of Newcastle Productions starts an exhibition of his famous and immensely popular Canberra Bus Stop series at CMAG this Friday night! To celebrate we;'re trying to get as many of his prints framed and up in our gallery by the end of the week, and we have a few exclusive specials to reveal, including a giant sized print of EVERY one of the iconic cylinder bus stops as well as Trevors ORIGINAL DRAWINGS! from which his prints evolved - each original drawing come with a complimentary A4 Colour Print of the final artwork!

09.01.2022 We're out of here!, Have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year and we will see you again from January 6th when we can once again help you with all your custom framing needs, photographic printing, colour film processing, as well as having an awesome range of new art going into the gallery.. like this old favourite from Shag (which sums up conditions lately rather well) and a couple of tubes full of assorted awesomeness from Rhys Cooper. Cheers

04.01.2022 Best part of the job is some of the amazing artwork that you come across, like these amazing lumen prints by Judith Crispin...

03.01.2022 Turtle Time! loving this original Tim Doyle watercolour we acquired for the gallery and having so much fun framing it! The double frame with the industrial metal look outer, triple mats with just a bare 1mm of red between the other two patterned layers gives a gritty look that matches Raph's character perfectly. If you have something special that deserves extraordinary treatment be sure to come by and see us sometime.

01.01.2022 Hi, just a friendly reminder that full custom framing is a process that can take up to two weeks (that's our current standard turnaround, straight canvas stretching can be a little quicker) So please plan your xmas framing requirements ASAP and get in to see us soon if you want to get your framed piece under the tree! Also a good ieda to get in quick if you have your eye on something in our gallery as things are starting to move, here are a few recent additions...
