20.01.2022 Spring Weddings Important things to remember when planning If you are planning a Spring Wedding, and it is the most popular time of the year when Brides often are deciding and wanting to hold their ‘special day’. However there are some things you need to take into consideration even though all of the gardens and parks will be springing back in life and giving us a palette of gorgeous bright and pastel colours with blooms and bulbs such as fragrant sweet peas, lilacs, hyaci...nths, tulips and peonies showing their little faces and filling our senses with their perfumes -- we are not out of the rainy season!! So you still need to have a ‘B’ plan to cover the unexpected Spring downpour, or perhaps have a marquis on the back burner in your plans in case it is needed or even another venue which has some under cover area as your emergency ceremonial area. Rain can also spoil yours and your bridal party’s hair styles so having some umbrellas on the ready is not a bad idea either. In Spring, parks and home gardens still can have muddy areas where your guests need to walk, and often mud will spoil some of our gorgeous wedding heels that we have especially purchased for this special day. So for after your wedding ceremony clear plastic bags put over your shoes, with a rubber band around your ankle is the way to go as you walk back to your limo and is a great way to protect your shoes from the mud (bags can’t be seen under your long gowns) and is a great fun photo opportunity by your photographer with you and your girls with their feet all in plastic bags!! Also a job the boys can help with by putting them on the girls’ feet. With the nicer weather coming, often it brings with it insects so perhaps have some citronella or spray cans of insect repellent available for your guests to use before your arrive. If you are including Liliums in your bouquets, even though they are stunning and come in a variety of beautiful colours don’t forget to ask the florist to remove the centre Stamen otherwise the powder from them will stain your gown or bridesmaids dresses permanently it is a dye, and nothing would look worse than your beautiful gown with a horrible bright orangybrown stain on it when you arrive at your reception for everyone to see, or even worse before if it gets on you in the car as you are driving to your ceremony.. Cheers Sylvia

16.01.2022 Hi everyone At this time when the warmer weather is coming for us to enjoy we still have to remember to have our 'B' plan for weddings in place. Often we can get caught with rain showers and wind storms on the day so it is important to have a 'B' plan if you are planning an outdoor wedding ceremony. September and October are always wet months even though gorgeous days are mixed into these months as well. Check with wherever you are holding your ceremony that they can accomodate a last minute change of plans owing to bad weather! Happy Weddings everyone. cheers Sylvia

14.01.2022 I have just returned back from Sydney where I officiated at a wedding ceremony on the weekend at Peats Bite on an island with the magnificent Hawkesbury River as its backdrop at Brooklyn NSW for the lovely couple Jason and Emily. What a gorgeous family with their two precious little daughters receiving 'keepsake' bracelets to remember this special day for ever. We had such a fantastic time with all the guests shuttled in via a 30 minute ferry ride which truly set the scene of what was to be and then the beautiful bride coming also by ferry after we had all arrived and taken our places ready to welcome her arrival as she stepped from the ferry on the arm of her dad. Stunning vista and great venue. Every happiness to you both. Sylvia x
