25.01.2022 LATEST NEWS ON SAME SEX MARRIAGE The Marriage Amendment (Definition and Religious Freedoms) Bill 2017 (Dean Smith Bill) was passed by the Senate on 29 November 2017. The Bill will now be debated in the House of Representatives. The requirements set out in the Marriage Act 1961 remain in place until such time as an Act of Parliament changes them. As such, celebrants are currently not able to accept a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) from same-sex couples. The date from whi...ch same-sex weddings could occur in Australia will depend on the date the Australian law is changed to allow same-sex marriage. The final form of amendments to the Marriage Act 1961 is a matter for the Parliament.

23.01.2022 Everyone loves a surprise. Trish and Jon surprised their family and friends at Trish's 50th Birthday Celebration on 16 September by having a Surprise Wedding. It was a beautiful evening and I had the opportunity to catch with Brides sister whose nuptials I officiated a number of years ago.

23.01.2022 AT HOME FUNERALS - please share with family and friends. I had the honour of conducting the funeral of a Loved One in the garden of her family home a few weeks ...ago. It was a beautiful and serene setting. The wicker basket was lovingly decorated by the family during the service with flowers picked directly from her garden. The family were able to say their goodbyes in the garden where she spent so much of her time and where many family memories have been created. For me it provided the opportunity to deliver a very personalised funeral service. For the Family it provided the privacy they needed in the comfort of their own family home. T...ogether we created a very UNIQUE ceremony that included a section where each of the seven children between them delivered a blessing to the Bride and Groom. Many of the guests came up to me after the ceremony to comment on how inclusive the ceremony was.
