25.01.2022 When we helped Brooke Ramsay gain her Traffic Management qualification, we knew the moment we met her that she was a quality individual. After Brooke successfully gained her qualification through CTA, we were only too happy to introduce her to one of our partner employers, Traffic Diversions Group, where she has been working happily as a Traffic Controller ever since. Brooke recently showed her outstanding empathy when she helped a distressed elderly man who turned up at the COVID19 testing site she and her TDG teammates were working on. 25.01.2022 As part of Mental Health Month our CEO, Damian Paul, recently presented at a special virtual event hosted by national Disability Employment Services provider atWork Australia. We work closely with a number of employment services organisations like atWork Australia to create pathways for our students towards on-going employment. As an organisation, atWork Australia work with people living with disability, injury or health condition to identify their goals and aspirations, buil...d skills and job-readiness and support them through interviews and into employment. The atWork Australia team also work closely with employers to help them access a broader pool of talented candidates. The theme of atWork Australia’s event was ‘Supporting Ourselves’ and Damian spoke about the benefits of hiring people living with disability, injury or health condition. He reflected on his personal extensive experience in the construction industry and the challenges for hirers during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a terrific session with excellent engagement by the attendees and this great initiative just reinforced the reasons why Civil Training Australia has chosen to work with atWork Australia. 06.01.2022 Our latest Traffic Management Course was underway earlier today in our custom-built learning facility in Dandenong South. Our unique indoor set-up allows our student traffic controllers to take turns at managing a ‘live’ site so they gain practical experience at managing the stop/slow bat, using hand signals and communicating via the walkie talkie. That invaluable practical experience stands them in good stead when they successfully complete the course and start working in the industry as accredited traffic controllers.
