23.01.2022 If you're heading down to the beach look out for the new poster guide by Eco Crab Industries to what can be collect from the beaches to be recycled! You can help them out by collecting recyclable debris and if possible in separate bags according to the guide (lids and bottles can be combined). All recyclable plastic collected can be delivered to Island Care at 9 Club Road.... Get involved and keep our Island beautiful

21.01.2022 The Christmas Island Visitor Centre wishes everyone a very Happy Easter. Stay Safe and Wash your Hands. We now have in stock a variety of gorgeous handcrafted cards made by Safira. Made from mermaid tears aka sea glass from our local Christmas Island Beaches, these cards are truly delightful.... Come and have a look and support Safira in spreading the message of love and care for our environment and each other. Please be advised the Visitor Centre will be closed on Good Friday 10 April. 20.01.2022 October brings a jam packed month as celebrations kick off the Anniversary of Territory Week! There are loads of activities for everyone to get involved in ranging from the Scavenger Hunt, Sports Day, Cove Swim, Raft Regatta, Fishing Competition, Food Stalls and so much more! Have a fun filled month and please note that the Visitor Centre will be open from 9:00am-11:00am today, Saturday 3 and Monday 5 October public holiday. ... If you haven't already, come in and register for Family Fun Day and collect your wristbands for entry at the Visitor Centre Please note that the Visitor Centre will be undergoing renovations in the coming weeks and despite the large container out front both entries remain open for visitors. With social gathering restrictions relaxed you can now hit the gym or pool at the Recreational Centre, enjoy the Saturday night movie at the Outdoor Cinema or try your hand at a round of golf, not forgetting Mum this Sunday 10 May. At the Visitor Centre we have gorgeous Mother's Day cards, pre-loved golf balls, stubby coolers and a range of other gifts in store. Whilst observing social distancing pop in and say hello!... 10.01.2022 We have been working closely with Cocos Keeling Islands Visitor Centre to create an inter-island merchandise line to encourage and promote travel to Australia's Indian Ocean Islands Our brand new polo designs and trucker caps are now on sale at both Christmas Island and Cocos Keeling Islands Visitor Centers (Stubby coolers are on the way!) 04.01.2022 Our What's On is back up and running and September has great events for all visitors and the community to get involved in! Father's Day will kick start the month on Sunday 6th followed by the Hungry Ghost Celebrations at 12:00pm at the CLA. The Shire of Christmas Island will be participating for the first time in the Great Northern Clean up on Sunday 13th at Dolly Beach! Our shire being the furthest northern shire represented.... With the support of Island Care, Eco Crab Industries and Christmas Island National Park, all are welcome to help clean up Dolly Beach starting at 8:30am and be a part of this great event to keep our island clean and beautiful!
