They wake at dusk, ready to raid the peppermint trees for a feed. Take a torch after dark and see if you can find one in the local peppermint trees around Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River - this is where most of the Western Ringtail Possum's estimated 3,500 population lives. They nest in dreys in the canopy of peppermint and wattle trees. You can help them by slowing down on the roads at night, and bringing pets indoors.
