23.01.2022 Hello! Do you have a child enrolled to attend at CKP kinder in 2021? Does the kinder have more than one four-year-old group? If you answered 'yes' to both of these questions then very soon you will be sent an email with a survey attached to choose your preferred group. The email and survey monkey link will be sent to you by the end of the first week of October. Remember to check your clutter and junk email boxes and save CKP emails as recognised so future messages will go straight to your inbox.

22.01.2022 Do you live in Mornington and have missed out on a place at kindergarten in 2021? There's still time to register to attend CKP Mornington Park. This refurbished kinder has a vast outdoor area and offers exceeding opportunities for children to learn. No Limits is running here and will mean that your child will have individual speech and language assessments and a year-long language program delivered by a Speech Pathologist and a Literacy Support Educator.

17.01.2022 Good afternoon, I hope everyone is safe and well. Thank you to you all for hanging in there over the past weeks and for juggling jobs, remote learning with the health and wellbeing of your family. As you will be aware, as it stands, Stage 4 restrictions are due to end on Sunday 13th September. ... What does that mean for CKP Kindergartens? We will continue to open and operate our four-year-old funded programs ONLY children who meet the criteria for vulnerability and for children of permitted workers in the last week of Term 3, the week ending 18th September. This decision has been made to support the children, teachers and educators who would be unsettled by a short return to kinder before the school holidays. Term 4 We hope that we can all return in Term 4 to finish the year together. This decision will be made following further advice from the Premier and the Department of Education and Training and will be communicated with you closer to the beginning of the term.

16.01.2022 Children at CKP Montague Park Preschool learning about Aboriginal culture; they recreated 'ochre' style painting using clay, mud, sand, and other natural materials. The highlight was one of their Aboriginal children telling a Dreamtime story at group time using puppets and symbols. Lots of great discussions happening and lots of fun in doing so!

14.01.2022 Wominjeka! Welcome back to Kindergarten! Our kindergartens are situated on Bunurong lands and we take this opportunity to acknowledge the traditional owners as the custodians and take pleasure in spending time playing and learning there. It has been lovely to see children arrive and settle into kinder over the past weeks and we look forward to building relationships with you and help your children to learn and have fun.

13.01.2022 You will now be aware that Victoria is entering stage 4 lockdown from midnight tonight. We are awaiting further clarification from the DET in relation to kindergartens and we will then keep you informed. Please check this page and your email for updates. Keep safe and stay home.

05.01.2022 Due to unprecedented demand, CKP Mt Eliza Preschool has updated its 2021 Timetable. In order to accommodate a large number of 4-Year-Old’s wanting to attend Mt Eliza, we will be now offering a rotational program. This means that your child will attend 3 of the 4 days shown in the timetable you can find on the CKP website. Preferences will not be collected until later in the year.... We understand that this update may be inconvenient for families who have planned based on the previous timetable however we must do the best we can to ensure that we can offer education to as many children in the Mt Eliza community as possible. As always, CKP will be responsive to the community needs. We will engage with families who have completed the enrolment process, if necessary. The three-year-old group has been moved to Friday and currently remains at six hours. When we have enrolled families, we will survey you to decide on the start and finish time and whether we offer a five or six-hour session.

05.01.2022 Something heartwarming to end our week with.

04.01.2022 Have you been watching the penguins? If not, it's most definitely worth watching!

04.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day. The idea is that today reminds us that we should be checking in with each other, not just today but every day and especially at the moment. Our teachers and educators have been checking in with you and the children and we check in with them. If someone tells you that they're not ok, do you know what to say next? This interactive video will help. And, if you're not OK, reach out to someone to let them help.

01.01.2022 Transitions for children starting school next year might look different from past years but our kinders and local schools are working hard to plan for a smooth transition. Ask your teacher what they have planned.

01.01.2022 Due to unprecedented demand, CKP Somers Preschool has updated its 2021 Timetable. In order to accommodate the large number of 4-Year-Old’s wanting to attend Somers, we will be now offering 2 groups. Please go to the CKP website to see the new timetable. Both of the groups will be offering Nature Kinder as a part of the program. Nature pedagogy is an important part of the curriculum at Somers and this will continue in 2021 but will look different in order to fit in with th...e longer days. The beautiful local surroundings of the beach and bushland will be used to explore and learn about nature and indigenous culture. The connections the community has made with Coolart will continue but in a different way. Preferences will not be collected until later in the year. We understand that this update may be inconvenient for families who have planned based on the previous timetable however we must do the best we can to ensure that we can offer education to as many children in the Somers community as possible. As always, CKP will work with the families who are enrolled to ensure we meet the needs of the community and ensure everyone who wants to has the opportunity to be included.
