24.01.2022 With all the bushfire residual smoke and ash upon us, there is a great App to keep an eye on our air quality. There are air quality monitoring stations all around us. Please take note as PM2.5particles are a major health hazard. These particles in the air are small enough to enter our blood stream when we inhale causing major health risks. Avoid outdoor activity as advised. Pass this on keep safe -regards CK Natural Medicine

24.01.2022 Spring has sprung and a new variety of in season fruits and vegetables are here for you to enjoy. Benefits of eating locally grown produce is you know it is fr...esh and not stored produce, higher chance of nutrient content than commercially farmed. You are supporting the local economy. When you refer to processed foods it doesn't only apply to packaged foods.... it also refers to harvest, time in transit, time in storage, shelf life, plastic packaging it sits in....all of which deplete the nutrient content. The quicker the process from farm to plate the healthier it will be as the nutrient content will be preserved. Have a supper Spring and enjoy all the delicious produce. 24.01.2022 The nutrients from the foods we eat either fuel our bodies natural biochemical processes or hinder them. Providing the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, compounds, enzymes our body requires is essential for these biochemical processes. Balance is key. Try and incorporate as many fresh fruit and vegetables and lean proteins, oily fish and high fibre low GI carbohydrates to your daily meals to enhance optimum health outcomes. #eatyrrainbow #nutritionalmedicine #healthyhabits #biochemistry #healthyswaps #nutrition

18.01.2022 Time for our morning smoothie...... rich in vitamins, minerals and compounds #AstragalisPapayaHempSeedsProteinRaspberriesGrapesBananatoday we went tropical. Today I will highlight the health benefits of papaya. I love papaya, its a fruit that packs a nutritional punch papaya possesses anti-thelmintic,protozoan,bacterial,fungal,viral, anti-inflammatory, stabilizes blood pressure and blood glucose and cholesterol. Is also a free-radical scavenging, neuroprotective, ass...ist in getting rid of fluid retention just to name a few. Although, take caution if you are trying to fall pregnant or are newly pregnant ,keep this out of your diet as it is posses abortifacient and antifertility activities, it has been shown to induce miscarriage and labor. Papaya contains the highest vitamin C amongst tropical fruits, explains its part of beneficial effects on health. Interestingly, papaya fruit has also shown to modulate the gut microbiota and reduce phyla associated with dysbiosis and gut inflammatory issues. The best is dehydrating the seeds and popping them in a pepper corn grinder. Use them on salads, as a seasoning etc. See more

13.01.2022 With the spread of the Coronavirus there may be some confusion and panic and misinformation .... here is some information about it and how to protect yourself and your family. What is coronavirus? If you have travelled, or have been in contact with people who have travelled and returned from China- this is important Public Health Information. Coronaviruses can make humans and animals sick. Some can cause illnesses similar to the common cold... and others cause more serious illnesses, including severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). What is the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)? There is a new coronavirus primarily affecting people who have recently been in mainland China, particularly the Hubei Province. It’s likely that the coronavirus originally came from an animal, and there is now evidence that it can spread from person-to-person. There have been cases of 2019-nCoV reported in some other countries. What are the symptoms of 2019-nCoV? Symptoms include (but are not limited to) fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, and shortness of breath. Difficulty breathing is a sign of possible pneumonia and requires immediate medical attention. It can take up to 14 days for symptoms to show after a person has been infected. You should monitor yourself for symptoms closely for 14 days after entering Australia. What do I do if I am sick right now? If you have fever, sweats, chills or shortness of breath please let a biosecurity officer at the airport know now. What do I do if I get sick while in Australia? If you develop mild symptoms: Isolate yourself from other people and put on a mask if you have one; Call a doctor or hospital and tell them your recent travel history; and When you get to the doctor’s clinic or hospital, tell them again of your recent travel history. If you have serious symptoms such as difficulty breathing: Call 000 and ask for an ambulance and notify the officers of your recent travel history. Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. You should: Wash your hands often with soap and water; Use good cough etiquette cover your cough or sneeze and wash your hands afterwards; and Avoid close contact with others (including touching, kissing, hugging, and intimate contact). 11.01.2022 Today I was lucky enough to have fresh fish for lunch. The joys of living by the sea... my son went out yesterday morning and snapped up this lovely Bream. Bream is not an oily fish, so it has minimal Omega-3s, but very high in protein with a whopping 19g/100g. Sustainable living & eating starts by being mindful of the foods we consume. Even though you may not be at the least bit interested in a pescatarian or vegetarian/vegan plant based diet you can give your body a break from processed foods and red meat in particular and have a meat free Monday. #healthyhabits #fresh #foodismedicine #eatforhealth #lifestyle #nutrition #fish #pescatarian #sustainableliving #newhabits #inspo #MeatFREEMonday

10.01.2022 We have had so much time during this pandemic and isolation to really tune in to our inner selves. This is my meditation time... find a quiet place , chose an incence scent that resonates with you. I have my singing bowl which brings me so much peace and joy and positive vibration. One of my favorite meditations is the OM chant. Sit witb yourself and your breath for at least 10 minutes a day to destress, untangled the clutter in your mind and reboot your energy flows. Namaste , be safe and peace & love be with you all

05.01.2022 Making a batch of yummy overnight oats for my clients. We had a taste test last week and he absolutely loved it. Oats, natural yoghurt, cacao, fig, strawberry, blueberries, almonds, sunflower seeds and psylium. You add whatever combination of fruits and nuts and seeds you li...ke. A quick and easy way to start the day, especially if you are time poor as you can make up to 4 batches in recycled jars and store in fridge ready to go.
