24.01.2022 Presenting in schools and in coaching sessions, I meet so many high schoolers operating on low to high level anxiety every day of the week, because they’re craving essential high school HOW-to skills to- Reduce overwhelm and procrastination, mastering productivity routines and systems. So they don’t fall behind and have panic set in. Lessen stress, by handling failure and perfectionism so they can be their best and drop comparisons that drag them down. Dial down anxiety..., when using thinking strategies and skills to separate fact from story so to keep their mindset UP and feel better inside. Dodge drama, by setting personal boundaries and leading with kindness so school isn’t a stressful, excluding and isolating place. Minimise worry, understanding what can and can’t be controlled, being present and choosing a mindset that works for, not against them. Imagine if high schoolers don’t have access to these tools in 2021. Imagine if all high schoolers do have access to these tools in 2021! 23.01.2022 Great article here. I must say many points did trigger me a tad... just the thought of getting frustrated with, shaming and talking down to teenagers! The teenage head and heart relaxes into sessions when theres real connection, laughter, acceptance and they feel safe with a professional WHO LOVES WORKING WITH TEENS & HAS A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF HOW TEENS WORK. Teenagers can smell a rat miles away!! Its at this moment teens gently lean into coaching sessions with gu...sto and honesty- and the learning begins and they willingly come back. Love my Job.

17.01.2022 So many teens feeling tired, sensitive, defensive and reactive as this challenging school year gets closer to the end. Feeling like this, many teens are struggling to separate criticism from feedback (especially as their undeveloped frontal lobe isn’t working efficiently yet and their highly dramatic primitive /emotional brain is rising up with big big feelings). Teens can get stuck when they hear and interpret feedback as big bad and personal criticism, then add total tired...ness, a mighty dollop of ‘I’m over it’ thinking and you know how it goes .... down the rabbit hole they go! Both can impact teen mental and emotional fitness and sitting at the pointy end of our chats, they pull no punches, drilling down to the nitty gritty facts. ... The presence of FEAR and its possible role in excuse building rises up ready to defend and protect. Then BRAVERY turns up, playing a critical role in a teens plight to ride the roller coaster of life with more grit and gusto and less fear and excuses. Our conversations are rich, real and powerful, the way they should be. What a joy it is be a part of a teenagers journey.
