25.01.2022 THE NUMBER 1 TRUE CRIME PODCAST IN AUSTRALIA and number 2 overall in Aus. Couldn't be prouder of Zoltan Fecso who has worked tirelessly over the past 2 months composing, editing, sound designing, mixing and mastering Childers - The Podcast by Paul Cochrane. This is a podcast with threadbare funding, no ads, and a tiny team. Here's to heartfelt and ethical independent journalism that doesn't sensationalise a tragedy. Would be nice to see it kick Bro Rogan off his perch but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

24.01.2022 Happy anniversary to 'Shimmer Raga', a gorgeous album by @zoltanfecso put out by @hushhushrecords in Seattle and launched at @melbrecital (Melbourne Recital Centre). This album heralded a huge shift in Zee's practice. Here's some snaps from the launch and the blurry aftermath as well as the limited edition cassettes (SOLD OUT!). I was SO excited I got to dress up and go backstage, hence the awkward mirror selfie. I was so chuffed when Zee asked me if he could use my painting 'Shimmer Raga' as the title and artwork for this release. He has another album coming out in a few weeks and I'm thrilled to say that one of my paintings will again be the cover art. See @whitelabrecs and @zoltanfecso for more info.

21.01.2022 If you look at the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on large art companies, then consider how bad it is for independent and individual artists. There i...s no support. The government and corporations only reach out when they need us to donate a painting to a fundraiser, or play a concert for free, or give our time and expertise away for free, they only reach out to take. Now is the time to buy paintings from friends. Now is the time to share status updates from contemporaries, to support each other, because we sure as fuck aren't getting any of that support pie. Whatever bone is thrown to us will be gobbled up by larger artistic bodies to feed those in administration, those on boards and committees, those who decide who they will deem worthy for grants or exhibitions and leaving those who make the art work to perish. Buy that print, buy that drawing, pay for that online drag show, send money to that experimental garment sculpture artist, buy gift certificates or advance downpayments, now is the time. We need to be our own economy, because nobody is coming to save us.

19.01.2022 A drawing of my breath, from @kayleigh_heydon 's fabulous workshop. This was a blind drawing, focusing on the breath and letting it guide the charcoal. Really surprised that the shape is so bulbous, organic and almost closed. I thought it'd be more sharp and erratic but there you go.

01.01.2022 "Infinite Wisps" Acrylic on Canvas 54" x 40" 2020 .... This large work was commissioned earlier this year by a lovely Melbourne couple, Val and Ian. They already have some incredible art in their home, and it's such a privilege to have my work in their space. . The commission process started after lockdown and was conducted entirely via email. Val and I emailed back and forth for a little while, working on an artwork brief. Some artists refuse to work to a brief. I love it. I love imposing certain restrictions on my practice, it's a great way for me to explore and experiment in ways I might never have tried, all whilst being able to work closely with the collector. It helps when the collector is a bloody legend too . If you buy my work, you're part of the fabric of my practice and my life. It's an honour to have my work in homes and other spaces in Australia and Europe. . Thank you Val and Ian. Thank you Ciara for putting them on to me.
