24.01.2022 Christmas Disco was such a success! All of our participants had an amazing time dancing, partying and dressing up in the photo booth with their friends. I don’t know where they find all their energy! They kept the dance floor full all night long. Thankyou to everyone for being such wonderful dancers and making the night so enjoyable. Please enjoy the video and pictures and more videos of some of our evenings performers to come! Extra special thanks to our support workers for making the night run so smoothly!

21.01.2022 The girls had a lovely time with the animals, and then back to the Cottage for a pamper session. New ladies with a foot spa ,painted nails and toes. Thanks for your support today Julie, Makenzie and Larnie.

21.01.2022 The Thursday ladies group shopped until we dropped today at the DFO. I’m not sure we made much of a dint in the Christmas shopping, but the participants certainly did happily purchase a few items for themselves! Thank you to Brittany, Alysse and Bree for your support today.

21.01.2022 RECOMMENDATIONS NEEDED! At Claire’s Cottage we run weekly cooking lessons with our wonderful participants and we are finding ourselves needing more room in the kitchen for our budding master chefs! So we are putting a call out for recommendations to help us create a great work space for them!... Do you know a cabinet maker or someone who could help us with this project? Please share our callout with anyone who might be interested in a job like this!

21.01.2022 Today we had an international lunch, we had Chinese, Indian , Italian , and French desert.Everyone was very good at trying all the different types of food. After enjoying all the delicious food we did a video of how the kids rated their lunch. So after the photos please watch the video.

21.01.2022 A very early start this morning for Sarah and myself, packed the car and headed to Eumundi Markets. We found a great place for breakfast, check the chairs out!! After a delicious breaky we walked around these amazing markets and bought some great stuff. Sarah had a fabulous time and on a count down for her next adventure.

16.01.2022 Well our time at the beach is nearly over, Sarah has had a wonderful time shopping, having a paddle boat ride and feeding the fish , lots of beach walks and enjoying watching the kite surfers, and surfers . Tomorrow Sarah is looking forward to the Eumundi Markets . Enjoy the photos.

16.01.2022 The Monday group had an action-packed day with Laser Tag and Bowling at KingPin. They loved the challenge of working in teams at Laser Tag and all showed great sportsmanship in the bowling! Well done Monday group.

While we have suspended our day program and group social programs, we are still operating our 1:1 services, and have put together a fantastic digital social program that is quickly becoming popular. This program is a wonderful opportunity to co...nnect socially with peers while also keeping busy with activities like, yoga, craft challenges, indoor scavenger hunts, dancing, and much more! 13.01.2022 The Thursday ladies group were so spoiled today as we had Belinda, a talented Beauty Therapist, visit the cottage. The girls felt totally relaxed and rejuvenated, followed by a high tea with lovely sandwiches, pastries and cakes.

13.01.2022 Another lovely Friday spent swimming at the pool. The group had a great game of pool volleyball followed by some lunch and then a relaxing dip in the warm indoor pool to finish off the day. Thankyou to Shehadeh and Issy for your support!

13.01.2022 Claire’s Cottage participants ended the year with a BANG with an epic POOL PARTY- complete with huge inflatable!! The staff at Ferny Hills pool were absolutely phenomenal in ensuring we all had a safe and great time! Special thanks to Rosie for being our official photographer today. Merry Christmas everyone!!

10.01.2022 Today we celebrated our first worker of the month used this for an excuse to have a tasty chocolate cake. Our worker of the month is Nicole. She always puts in 110% when supporting a Particapant and working in with management . Thankyou so much Nicole for your dedication and support.

10.01.2022 Melbourne Cup Luncheon st Ferny Grove Tavern. We had a wonderful time , food was delicious, service was excellent and watching the race was exciting because we were in a sweep and Julie and I splurged at the TAB Our winnings were nothing from the sweeps, but I won third from my TAB splurge Thankyou Julie for organising our lunch.

We had an array of spooky costumes, Michelle and Jaz did the guys faces and hair, Julie and Catherine kept them all busy with games, dancing and plenty of delicious food. 06.01.2022 Today we had a long but fantastic adventure to Gympie for the Mary Rattler Steam Train! It was a VERY EARLY start to the day but everyone managed to get out of bed in time and arrive on time. We had a very comfortable bus trip to Gympie station, with our wonderful driver Ray. When we arrived at the station the staff were so accommodating and Brendon, who was our guide for the day was marvellous. We were very sad that Julie didn’t make the trip, but a big thanks to Bec and... Cross for your support on such a huge day! Also to Catherine who helped Cross get everyone up and ready this morning after their big slumber party last night! We are thrilled to share that our next Mary Rattler Steam Train trip will be on a Thursday... The Rattler Tasting Train! Stay tuned for details!

05.01.2022 Thanks to our wonderful Horse Whisperer Lorraine, who spends her time supporting our young adults, enabling them to have the wonderful experience of horse riding. Most of our participants have anxiety and being on a horse is so therapeutic for them. If anyone wants a chance to experience horse riding just contact Claire 0413270167.

03.01.2022 The ladies group went to visit the Daisy Hill Koala Centre today with support from Brittany, Alicia and Alysse, while Liam was busy at the cottage- cooking with Shehadeh and off to his horse riding where he cantered on his horse Whiskey. 01.01.2022 QCamel is a camel dairy and the animals are treated so beautifully and are extremely affectionate and friendly. Our participants absolutely loved getting in for a cuddle and our gracious hosts Laurén and Yasmine Brisbane, Sharon and Jodie Duns and dairy staff Jo and Elise were so kind and caring. Thankyou to all involved for a wonderful experience.

01.01.2022 You may have some seen some new faces around Claire’s Cottage in the past week! This year we have welcomed Mel, our newest team member and Senior Support Worker. Hana is our Accounts Manager and ordinarily works remotely, but has been visiting us here in Brisbane with Doug who works alongside our team in a technical capacity to take care of our staff and families through administrative, organisation and IT work. The Management Team are pleased to welcome our newest member to ensure our families continue to be supported with the upmost care and professionalism. *photo taken Pre-COVID restrictions.
