25.01.2022 Had the world at her feet... Jemma would have celebrated her 30th birthday this year I really wish she was here to have celebrated it with her family & friends. I wish she’d experienced all of life’s exciting milestones & fully lived out what she’d always dreamed of doing. 12 years have gone by since her life was tragically cut short & there are so many who love and miss her dearly. The loss of a beautiful young lady hits a family, friends & a little town hard Thinking... about Jemma reminds me how very precious life is & to never take it for granted. We never really know when our time might be up...it’s so important to live each day to the full & hold our loved ones close. Having inspired a lot of lines in Heaven Can’t Wait, it felt very special to pay tribute to Jemma in the music video. 23.01.2022 When your time’s cut short it can be unkind... I don’t know if the world will ever get to experience a character quite like Micky Booth ever again. Adventurous, mischievous, funny & infectiously lovable, Micky packed more into his 23 years on Earth than what most people would across an entire lifespan. I’ve never met anyone as genuinely fearless as Micky; nothing was off limits & so many of my favourite childhood memories revolve around him always pushing the boundaries bet...ween fun & dangerous (I’m sure many can relate to this!) Most people who knew Micky would have more than a few stories to tell & while he’s no longer with us...thinking about him still makes us smile. Makes us laugh. Makes us feel so lucky for the memories we got to make, with him usually leading the way. Losing Micky devastated a massive community of family & friends whose lives he’d touched. He is missed so dearly by all who knew and loved him...especially his beautiful family. It was very tough to ever imagine life going on without Micky. He lived the only way he knew how...Fast! And he left us with a legacy that takes a special kind of person to build in just 23 years. He inspires us to just bloody live life! To take on everyday like it’s your last & never waste a minute. The most beautiful thing about Micky...he had a heart of pure gold. The stories of his incredible generosity especially on his travels would teach us all a thing or two about kindness Today marks another year without Micky One thing that gives a little comfort is knowing that he is now reunited with his beautiful mother who is so dearly loved and missed also. 22.01.2022 Since releasing Heaven Can’t Wait, I’ve been incredibly humbled by the response to the song & music video from right across the world. Hearing so many of you share your stories of loss has been both heartbreaking & inspiring... Recently, a gentleman from Ireland who lives with a hearing impairment reached out to me & told me how much he was moved by the music video. He unfortunately lost his daughter a couple of years ago at the age of 7 & asked if I might put together a L...yric Video. 20.01.2022 I wrote Heaven Can’t Wait about the experience of losing loved ones, which for me first started with these two men who you may have noticed in the music video. I lost my grandfather Geoff (known as Daddy Cool to us grandkids) when I was 5 & I really cherish the time that I got to have with him. He was a beautiful man. Cancer unfortunately took my paternal grandfather Ralph Pye away at the age of 49 before my brother and I were born...but he’s really the reason I even pic...ked up a guitar & learnt to play in the first place. Ralph was a musician & spent his weekends performing all around the district. The most precious gifts he left behind for my sister, brother & I when he passed away were his instruments. I felt close to him growing up playing all the instruments that he used to, even though he couldn’t be around. I really wish I got to meet him...I think we would have really hit it off. But he sits in a frame on my piano & my desk so I can see him everyday He loved music & he left a legacy I feel really proud to have been touched by & pursued because of him. I know a lot of people who never got to meet any of their grandparents...so it reminds me to be grateful for the ones I still have & feel privileged that I’ve got two special men to spend my life looking up to & trying to make proud I guess Heaven Can’t Wait for people like that xx

20.01.2022 I've been playing music for as long as I can remember. Outside of performing, songwriting is my greatest passion and something that has given me so much joy... So last year, I decided to head into the studio to record my own songs for the very first time. At the end of the day, music is something that should be shared & I felt I had some songs that others might connect with in some way. 19.01.2022 Losing a loved one too soon is impossible to ever understand or comes to term with. It leaves us asking a lot of questions & the one that I’ve often found myself asking when reflecting on the tragic loss of a loved one is Why Heaven Can’t Wait for people like that? After I wrote this song, I thought it was one I should share...that it may be something others could relate to in some way. It was really the one that pushed me to go in & record my own music for the first time ...but I could never have anticipated the way the song & video would be received To the lives that inspired these lyrics & the video...I wish they were all still here. 15.01.2022 Heaven Can’t Wait is a song that had been sitting on my heart for a long time. Putting feelings into words can be a hard thing to do when you’ve lost a loved one. When I wrote it, I reflected on a lot of people whose lives were cut far too short. The overwhelming question I kept finding myself asking is why Heaven couldn’t just wait for them The more I asked that question, the more I thought it was something many more of you might relate to or have found yourself asking f...rom time to time. I’ve had quite a few of you asking about the inspiration behind the song and the people I was privileged to share in the video, so I thought I’d dive in & share a little more about how this all can to be over the next week or two. 12.01.2022 I just have to ask, why Heaven Can’t Wait for people like that I don’t know many people who could create quite the legacy that Dane Ballinger did in his short life. A beautiful wife and four gorgeous children, a successful business, a huge community of friends & trucking mates spread all over the country...he was a bloke giving it his all & building an incredible life. I know many people who look at Dane as an example of how to live with purpose. He did what he loved, tur...ning his passion for trucks into his livelihood. You only have to have seen how immaculately well presented his trucks were to get a feeling for the level of pride he had in his business. He aimed high. He worked hard. He loved his family & his friends. He loved his music, even having the title to one of his favourite Brooks & Dunn songs How Long Gone painted on the back of one of his trucks. Anyone who has crossed paths with Dane knows what a genuinely good bloke he was & how very deserving he was of every part of the wonderful life he was creating. Dane & his family and friends are in my thoughts a little more than normal as this week marks a year without him. It’s very hard to make sense of such a heartbreaking loss Receiving the horrible news the day we went into record Heaven Can’t Wait was the most awful feeling. The song will always make me think of Dane & it was special to be able to pay tribute to him in the Music Video...we just wish he was still here. The mark that Dane has left on so many lives will continue to inspire us to be more, do more & above anything else; to live the way we’d like to be remembered. He certainly left behind a remarkable legacy & the most beautiful family to be proud of....and How proud they must be of him The idea is not to live forever but to create something that will... 08.01.2022 Filming the music video for Heaven Can’t Wait was as special to me as writing the song. I knew I wanted to go back and create the video from my hometown where so many of my loved ones and those that inspired the song have been laid to rest. Finishing the shoot here.... a stones-throw from my family’s property outside of Oberon was really special. I feel very lucky to have grown up there. Looking back at this shot, I can’t help but feel there were a few people pulling some... strings upstairs to get this good of a sunset. 04.01.2022 To have to say goodbye, shouldn’t happen in your prime... I consider this man to be one of my very first mentors in life. I was lucky enough to be one of Chris’ students in Grade 3 & 6. I learnt a lot about how to live from the way he did. Passionate about sports, music, travel, family, friends...he had a thirst for living & was a true role model in every sense of the word. My brother and I were very fortunate to play music with Chris growing up. He’d join us on drums at c...ountless St. Joseph’s school events. Mr G & The Party Pye’s was the name he coined us with back in the day! A character looked up to by many...none more so than his beautiful wife and two kids who filled him with so much joy & pride. Playing at Chris’ funeral with my brother just two years after he was my teacher remains one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. His loss is one I found very challenging to come to terms with. I’d never felt more completely devastated...that Chris didn’t get to finish living the life he was just getting started with after a short lived fight with Brain Cancer seemed very unfair. I really wish he got to see his kids grow up but I know he’d be watching on proudly over them from above If anyone earned their spot in Heaven, Chris certainly did. 02.01.2022 It was a long road to recording my own music for the first time & this project has been the product of a lot of time, energy & love. As the countdown begins to releasing my Debut EP next Friday October 30, I thought I’d share a little of each song with you & the process of bringing each of them to life. 02.01.2022 God takes them in but he don’t send them back.... We filmed the music video for Heaven Can’t Wait at a little church in Black Springs, a village just outside of my hometown of Oberon. There’s a really beautiful memorial the locals built for this young lady after her tragic passing that still sits out front of the church today. Genevieve came from a wonderful local family & was one of my mum’s best friends. She was loved by many & it’s such a shame she was taken far too so...on Losing a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter before their time was up is heartbreakingly tragic. While I never got to meet her, I wanted to pay tribute to someone who meant so much to her family, her friends & her community that ensured she’ll always have a permanent presence outside their church & in their hearts.
