25.01.2022 Over the past term, some of our students have tended to our vegetable garden every day. This week, it was time to havest! We can't wait until after the holidays to harvest the rest, including the potatoes, which are growing really well.
24.01.2022 This week our year 3 - 6 students went on camp with students from Osborne, Millaroo and Jarvisfield State Schools. The students had a wonderful time with many of them saying that archery and raft building were their favourite activities. There were plenty of tired faces at the end of this action-packed 3 day camp.

20.01.2022 Today our students got to enjoy ten pin bowling, a visit to Plantation Park and mini golf as a reward for all of their hard work throughout this term.They had a blast!
19.01.2022 This week our students were involved in a lesson about quad bike safety by instructor Jamie Cupples. The session covered the importance of wearing a helmet, staying off public roads, riding a bike that is suited to the individual's weight and ability and always riding with care. The students were very interested. We want to make sure that our children remain safe.
19.01.2022 Congratulations to Remy Booth who is our Student of the Week for Week 7. Remy achieved this award for: Being a Learner: - Excellent efforts to stretch words out when reading. - Learning heaps of sight words.... - Writing an amazing poem about a snake. - Being keen to learn and trying his hardest in all subjects. Noah is a very deserving recipient of this award because he: - is always respectful to staff ,students and community members. - Is always responsible and willing to help in the classroom and around the school. - displays a positive attitude to school life.... - is a great role model for other students. - always puts in his best efforts to ensure that tasks are completed to the best of his ability. - is a genuine friend to all of the students at our school, often taking time to help them or talk to them. 15.01.2022 Congratulations to our Students of the Week for weeks 5 and 6; our school captain and sports captain, Laurence Tomasetig and Jace Bethel. Well done to these two boys for putting in their best efforts in class and exhibiting good leadership skills. Great work kids!
13.01.2022 Well done to our Students of the Week for weeks 8 and 9, Zavier Offord and Amber Wyburg. Zavier received his award for always being respectful to staff and other students and setting a good example for other students. He has also been working hard on his information text. Great work Zavier! Amber has been really focussed in class and has also been working hard on her information text. She has made lots of improvements in her school work throughout this term. Congratulations Amber!

08.01.2022 Combine Small Schools' Athletics Carnival COVID-19 Information (Please circulate): Please note that that in order to abide with current regulations: - All athletes and specators must answer no to al of the following questions:... In the last 14 days have you travelled from overseas or a COVID-19 hotspot? Have you been in close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19? Are you an active COVID-19 case? Are you currently, or have you recently experienced cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath? If you answered ‘yes’, you are not permitted to attend this event. Entry will be via the double gates at the oval on Larkin Street. Please see the attached document for further infornation regarding this event. Thank you!
07.01.2022 The Burdekin Small Schools turned out in force for the 2020 Burdekin Small Schools' Athletics Carnival. Students from Clare, Millaroo, Maidavale, Airville, Giru, Brandon, Kalamia, Jarvisfield, Osborne, Gumlu and The Burdekin School all came together for a fantasic day.
04.01.2022 This year we couldn't have our Fancy Dress Ball due to COVID-19 restrictions... but it didn't stop our little dancers putting on a show out the front of the school! We had a Fancy Dress Day instead too with the theme of heroes and villians. Enjoy the great costumes and even better dance moves.
