23.01.2022 It goes without saying that these 2 words are some of my most used right now. In amongst the chaos and fear, I have a deep, and forever grateful heart, for those around me. Having gratitude for human connection on every level has been a resounding feeling that has arisen, more than any other for me.... So THANK YOU.... To my special friends and family. For offering words of support, hugs, messages, calls, their time. I too have had moments of deep fear and panic and it's a difficult time to navigate for everyone. Compassion is key....And reaching out to others has never been so important THANK YOU.... To my clients....my extended friends in my world. You have all shown support and loyalty even under your own pressures. Thanks for standing by me and my business. THANK YOU.... To the nurses, doctors, cafe owners, shop keepers....all those who are exposing themselves daily, to provide us the medical care, and life support systems we need. THANK YOU.... 21.01.2022 I often see technicians commenting that they have been "stood up" by clients at the last minute OR that someone has cancelled the night before and they are left with an empty diary. Scarily, for some, this is multiple times in a week! The problem here is really around boundaries and values. 20.01.2022 In my 20 years of self employment I've become comfortable with failing and making mistakes... because essentially, if I had not, I would not have learned. My partner has a saying "its only a mistake if you don't learn from it", and he is so right. If you find yourself hitting brick walls in your Cosmetic Tattoo Business, write it down and come back to it. ... Then ask yourself these questions.. Is there a pattern? Does it happen often? Is it causing you emotional stress? Does this problem make you feel deflated/undervalued/angry? Are these issues causing you to lose confidence? If the answer is YES then you need to think of a solution, and a way to stop it in its tracks. A solution should be reached so that you dont go through these feelings repeatedly and over time, feel burnout, decreased energy, overwhelm etc. I have learned from my mistakes this way in busienss, and created ways of dealing with stress, pressure, boundaries, integrity and confidence, by building systems that supported me, in my work, that supported my mental wellbeing and that gave me structure and confidence. Indirectly this gave me an amazing competitive edge! I appeared more professional, streamlined and knowledgeable to my clients. But... NEVER be scared to make mistakes.... it really is a blessing in disguise. If you need any help, I share all of my systems in my program, so that others can benefit from them. So they can suceed where I failed and so that they can focus on other areas of growth in their business. Remember.... Write down areas of frustration... Think about how you can improve them.... And make a change.

MINDSET - "success is an inside job before it becomes an outside reality" Having a healthy mindset throughout your work and life, is paramount to success. If we don't heal the emotional side of our behaviours then we limit our intellect. Why? Because ALL behaviours are emotional and not intellectual. By ignoring our emotions and not dealing with them, we don't ...face our biggest blind spots and they can leave us stuck and struggling in business. A healthy mind in business is essential to your longevity and success. So how do we honour a healthy mindset? We stay in ALIGNMENT. This means aligning with our beliefs, integrity and authenticity, as well as being laser focused and doing what we ENJOY! Did you know that Tiger Woods had a coach and they knew he was amazing at putting but not as good at driving? Instead if focusing on his weak spots, they doubled down on his STRENGTHS. When we align with our joy, and our strengths, we can be superhuman in these areas. For Cosmetic Tattoo Artists this is focusing on your art and delegating your less favourable tasks out to 3rd parties or designing processes that allow more time in doing what you love. MINDSET and ALIGNMENT both require STRUCTURE. Structure allows for the removal of stress through systems, better use of time by streamlining and holding the emotional weight of a business through boundaries, so you can remain aligned and focused. Structure helps us create SPACE to be creative and have the energy to evolve. Structure is largely dependent on the SYSTEMS we implement into our business. 12.01.2022 What does time mean to you? Time with family Time with kids Time for self care ... Time for a holiday Time for study Time for growth Time for self development Time for rest Time to be healthy Time to enjoy your hobbies Time to BREATHE Personally, I have always loved the artistic side of my work, but I realised early on in in my Cosmetic Tattoo career that the STRUCTURE of my business was VITALLY IMPORTANT, because it allowed me to focus my energy on what I was good at and alleviated not only a lot of stress but a huge amount of wasted time. Time that I could claim back for me, for my life and the wonderful things that my career in Cosmetic Tattoo could give to me. That is what it is all about right? Health, happiness, love, relaxation, growth, opportunity? Have you ever thought about HOW and WHERE you like to spend your time in your Cosmetic Tattoo business? Not ONLY that, but what about time that you want to have back for yourself? To keep your mindset clear and your energy levels boosted? To have an amazing work/life integration? To ENJOY LIFE? There are soooo many grey areas in Cosmetic Tattoo that effect our time, money AND our results! And managing them all alone, is a huge responsibility. We need to tell the client how to prep before treatment, about the terms of what we offer for the money paid, we need a strong booking policy to show respect for our time, we need deposits, aftercare, standards, legal consents, a streamlined and professional service, amazing client management, automated systems, CLEAR BOUNDARIES! And then there are all of the other pressures of self employment! Staff, accounts, HR, marketing, training. Without structure, we stand to lose precious time and then our professionalism, money, faith in our work, patience, sleep, health, business, mental health and OFTEN our home relationships suffer, due to increased stress and pressure. We can get so BUSY we just can't see how to create SPACE and before we know it, we are feeling like the business is running us, 24 hours a day. 11.01.2022 The unknown. We've all felt it! That gut wrenching, deeply fearful place, where you want to look forward with hope, reassurance and peace but you feel like a tiny sail boat, drifting into the dark clouds of an emotional shit storm. You feel uncomfortable, sick, frightened..you batten down the hatches, ready to cling on for dear life. But there can be an alternative. It takes practice, its something I regularly have to bring into the forefront of my mind...especially when ...times are throwing you deep into places you have never ventured emotionally. But maybe we can embrace the discomfort. What if we got comfortable with being uncomfortable? Reflecting back, throughout my life, I've only ever grown mentally and emotionally, in times of uncertainty. If we are comfortable, we are not stretching ourselves to experience new challenges, in our minds or bodies. With certainty, we live in autopilot, and then, are we really living at all? Or are we existing? Stuck in robotic patterns of life that never force us to live outside our comfort zones, that never test our will, and never knowing if IT COULD BE BETTER. Instead of being fearful, perhaps could entertain the concept of having a life filled with excitement, new opportunity, being in better alignment with self and so much more? As humans, we seek to problem solve, and develop. Give a human comfort, and they will soon lose their soul. But when you are unsure of what life may serve you, it means you are living on the edge and every moment you experience is new. The certainty of life, means it is a moment I've already lived. 11.01.2022 MARKETING AND SOCIAL MEDIA HOT HOT HOT TIP DO NOT FORGET TO SHOWCASE YOUR MATURE CLIENTS!! This is SUCH an underestimated and untapped market.... Quite honestly I absolutely LOVE working with mature clients, why? They understand value They respect your time They follow instructions They equate higher dollar value to a better service They show appreciation They respect professionalism They BLOODY LOVE to look and feel amazing!!!! They have more disposable income They are generally more in need of this than any other client The transformation photos are AMAAAAAAAZING!! So showcase the hell outta your mature client work!!!!!!!! Why not dedicate an entire 2 weeks, of your social media posts, PURELY to mature clients!!? So many of us post examples of our "younger" client's, but these photos rarely or NEVER appeal to our more mature market. I like to "niche" my services (more on that later) to a more natural look! And you can literally watch the clients roll in, when you focus on a mature market. So get on out there...and show these gorgeous women, what you can do for them!! In your "marketing language" for your posts, think of their pain points and talk to them. What I mean by this, is think about WHY a mature client might get their brows done. This can be: wanting to feel and look amazing despite their age having pride in their appearance wanting the brows to lift the face and accentuate the eyes poor eyesight poor coordination travelling a lot in retirement giving back confidence after illness (how rewarding is that) AND AFTERWARDS OR DURING A BROW SESSION .....UPSELL A LASH ENHANCEMENT TATTOO!!!! Have photos at the ready to show them how this beautiful soft eyeliner treatment, can really make their peepers pop!! Do not make the mistake of leaving this demographic out of your social media market!! Yes, do your due diligence on their health, but this is a hugely rewarding client to take care of. Evolving professionally and personally requires this and Brene Brown perfectly identified in her studies, that courage can ONLY be born from vulnerability. So we have to face feeling vulnerable, in order to take a chance in life and show courage. What have you overcome by being vulnerable? 09.01.2022 SOCIAL MEDIA TIP! EDUCATE YOUR CLIENTS To stand out amongst the crowd, show your followers what you KNOW. Knowledge is POWER. The more tips and education you share on your Socials, the more you show your clients WHY they should choose you!... Here are some tips.... Tell them what makes you amazing - show them your training certificates and WHY you invest in yourself continually! Show them your dedication to your art and WHY it is important to update your skills! Don't assume they know everything! Show them what a microblade is, where the technique evolved from, how you use them, why they should be disposable etc. Explain and demonstrate ALL of the techniques you have learned so they can see how versatile you are. Tell them WHY and WHEN you change your technique e.g why you do powder brows over feathering, what skin is better for what technique etc Show the client how you map their brows and why! Not ALL Techs pre-draw their designs - SHOCK HORROR (you can see an example on my page on Instagram @ CMCOSMETICTATTOO if you would like one) Give your clients or followers the top 5 or 10 questions they should ask an SPMU Artist (see my example on my Facebook Page at Clare Martin Business Academy) This will show your support for them and is an AMAZING way to show them that you have their best interests at heart. Show them the importance of hygiene and how you work with local laws and keeping your clients safety as paramount. This can include your insurance cert, your sharps disposal, how your tray should be set up, your knowledge on Hygiene. All of these things display your KNOWLEDGE and PROFESSIONALISM! Put them on your Socials to show your clients what YOU KNOW and how much you care! Its a great tactic for getting potential clients to question WHO will take the best care of them, and it is up to YOU to show them why they should choose you! There are literally hundreds of things you can show your potential clients...so dont JUST show them your work! Show them your care, skills and dedication to being the best xxx

06.01.2022 MORNING RITUALS. What are your morning rituals for your mental health and well being to ensure you are the best version of yourself, in your business? We have adopted masculine ways of working but some of my greatest moments of clarity come when I allow for "creative space" in my business practices. Slowing down to speed up is quickly gaining recognition. When we are in our "heads" being busy, we can start to forget what our heart desires are and what we want to achiev...e from our working life. I like to help my students work effectively with their time and create SPACE in their lives, so that they can slow their pace and allow for feminine power in business. This is: INTUITION GRATITUDE TAPPING INTO YOUR BIGGER VISION STAYING IN ALIGNMENT RUNNING A BUSINESS CONGRUENT TO YOUR VALUES ALLOWING FOR SELF CARE MAINTAINING BUSINESS LONGEVITY THROUGH REDUCED STRESS AND FLOW Morning Rituals can really help here and these can be built into your week slowly, to allow for integration. Some great morning rituals include: Journaling - what are you feeling, how is your BODY feeling, are you energised or flat and why, what would you like to reflect on/be grateful for, what do you want to release and let go of, do you have some new goals, what are your teachings, what do you need for YOU this week. Meditation - this could be as short as one minute or a walking meditation. Meditation is scientifically proven to expand the neo cortex of our brains and reduce stress. Visualisations - FEEL your vision! What does it look like, who is there, what are the emotions attached, smells, taste but really EMBODY the FEELING of your visualisations. Celebrate Yourself - what can you CELEBRATE about yourself! We forget to be aware of what we achieved in one moment and when we do, this expands our GRATITUDE. Gratitude is directly linked to greater JOY AND FULFILMENT IN OUR LIVES. I hope these morning rituals help you to expand the important part of being integrated in ALL ways in your business. We underestimate how important it is to find females in our tribe, who we can really "be" with!! It can literally breathe life into you! If I was fear driven, 2 of the 3 other women, in this photo, would be classed as my "competitors" BUT I understand the laws of abundance and that I can support, learn, grow, collaborate and thrive, if I work from a place of abundance and not greed. I am not, and NEVER WILL be the artist that buys into "competing" in my arena!! I love, respect and value these women. Or you have no boundaries around your bookings, cancellation policies or number of appointments and you GIVE your money and time away? ... Or clients don't turn up to their appointments, or don't respect your space at the clinic and bring along a tribe of unhelpful friends or family? Or expect more from you, when it might not even be your fault? These are just a FEW that made me feel so so unsettled in my work! and this is soooo common and you are absolutely NOT alone. 03.01.2022 It's easy to get lost in "busy" We can often become so consumed with what needs to be "DONE" when we are building business, we can forget to sit still for a moment and "BE". Stopping regularly to congratulate yourself and be grateful, is a success strategy tool. When we take a moment to feel grateful, we can see how far we have come, but not only that, how happy we are NOW. And in that moment we can often feel an amazing sense of achievement. Always focusing forward can ofte...n cloud the fact that we have everything we need, right at this moment. Family, health, friends, amazing colleagues, support, love, connection, time, space. I have a tool I use with my students to observe this. If you can take just a few moments in your morning before starting your day, to be grateful, you will soon see how much abundance you have already gained and this immediately releases the pressure of the "doing" mind. 02.01.2022 JUST BECAUSE..... We are going back, doesn't mean we have to GO BACKWARDS! REMEMBER that space is your friend.... REMEMBER that you are worthy of downtime REMEMBER that amazing business owners and creative and energised artists are are those that know how to value their time, boundaries, self care, work/life integration and the power of being happy NOW! This pandemic served up a huge dose of reality and the realisation that we have no guarantee of tomorrow, that things can AND DO, change on a dime! So be sure, that although your doors are reopening, that you maintain a healthy attitude towards your passion, your health, your relationships, your business and YOURSELF. Take the lessons we have learned and ALIGN so that you can ascend to be the best BE-ING that you have ever been!!! 02.01.2022 Getting COMFORTABLE.... with being UNCOMFORTABLE...... Is a sign of growth! Its completely normal to feel slightly fearful when we try new things or seek new routes. Evolving professionally and personally requires this and Brene Brown perfectly identified in her studies, that courage can ONLY be born from vulnerability. We have to face feeling vulnerable, in order to take a chance in life and show courage. From this courage we grow and deepen our experience. What have you overcome by being vulnerable in business and your personal life? Take time to think and reflect. And how can we deepen our feelings of fulfilment and happiness at work? Don't forget to CELEBRATE your courage each week. Remembering times that we conquer fear can help us to stack the evidence that we are more than capable, which leads us to strengthen our "self trust" muscle. Show gratitude for those that helped you, it's always amazing to give a thank you to someone who has helped you on your path or influenced you. Show gratitude to yourself for showing up, being awesome and take time to be AWARE of how brave you are in business! Being an entrepreneur is a hard road and it takes GRIT. Take note each month of the fear you have overcome and what you have accomplished. Always remember to congratulate yourself for things you have done for you and how you have prioritised self care and nurtured yourself as a human. Wins are not always about acheivements in business, they are about prioritising our mental health, energy and wellbeing. These alone are huge parts of finding joy in our daily work and routines.
