16.01.2022 The lovely sunshine brought the bowlers out this weekend. A group of WA Uni friends played twilight bowls on Friday and a "really happy" group from the Claremont Football Club took to the greens on Saturday. The Matilda Music club met on Sunday and, as well as the usual very talented musicians, there were some newcomers, a young boy with a really bright future, a lady with a 'Joan Baez ' voice and a visitor from the UK with an hilarious ditty about the Dones. The next Matilda's will be on 14th October. Club members will be supervising Royal Show parking from Tuesday to Saturday. Many thanks to those who offered to help. Unfortunately Club barman Vince was rushed to hospital on Friday and returned home on Sunday minus his appendix. All the members wish his a speedy recovery, he is sorely missed.

15.01.2022 The Thursday social bowls/pennant training winners were Martin Downey, Dave Leeson, Kate Hiatt and Peter Channer from Ian White, Peter Hiatt, Dot Leeson and Gavin Cann. On Friday evening the caring Christchurch boys of Romsey house held a fund raiser for the Children's Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation, filling the club with well over a hundred people. Well done boys. The club hosted the 5th division Pennant finals on Saturday. In the morning semi-finals Manning (56) b...eat Scarborough (45) and Claremont (77) beat Cockburn (45}. The final, in the afternoon, went down to the wire with the last few bowls deciding the winner. Claremont (58) won the pennant from Manning (54). The committee and their helpers did a great job preparing the grounds, the club rooms and the food for the event. There was no scroungers game on Sunday as most club members attended a really enjoyable Presentation lunch. The Matildas Music Club will be at the Club on 14th April from 2pm to 5pm. See more

13.01.2022 THAT TIME AGAIN..... :) Bring your guitars, ukeleles, voices, harmonicas, saxophones or indeed anything musical..... Have fun in a friendly environment. Try out performing in a small, local space with a supportive audience of fellow music lovers. SECOND AND FOURTH Sunday of every month.

12.01.2022 Bowling Under Lights is always fun! Claremont Bowls Club is friendly and fun. :) Organise an after work gathering perhaps? Or a different kind of birthday gathering? Give us a call on 9384 0395 or message this page for more information.

10.01.2022 Who met Opan, our lovely musician visitor from Lombok? The one with that big smile! Opan went back to Indonesia early to help the nearby villagers after the earthquakes last weekend. This is the guys helping where they can. Opan is also busking in his village to help raise funds for the food, water, etc that he is helping to distribute.

09.01.2022 More than music at the Matilda s Music Club! This guest performance by Leslie Butler visiting from UK was a huge hit.... :)

08.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone, from Claremont Bowls Club. Also from the Tuesday afternoon music Group. Here is a little number that Trevor and Rod have been trying to teach us..... ;) https://www.facebook.com/hosea.putra.9/videos/2026220840948510/

07.01.2022 It's that time again folks.... Bring your voice or your musical instruments and join in the fun! Or just enjoy the wonderful low bar prices and sit back to enjoy the show.... With our very own inimitable Trevor Malcom Perree giving us a few of his favourite numbers too. Where else would you rather be on a Sunday afternoon!

07.01.2022 A reminder about Friday night's musical quiz... The best fun!! No Rap Music - we promise :) Phone 93840395 or Dennis on 0420428816 if you want to make a last minute booking! Singles welcome! There's room for everyone. .. See you at the party...

07.01.2022 The winning team at Thursday's pennant practise was Chris Litchfield, Martin Downey, Neil Howat and Milton Byas. It was a little warm for pennant training on Saturday. The winning teams were David Lee, Neil Howat, Peter Channer and Chris Litchfield, Peter Imms, Phil Leeson. Good luck for the first pennant game this Saturday. The Claremont Council is hosting a 'Lawn Bowls, Banter and Bites' at the club as part of their generous Seniors week entertainment. It is on Friday 15th November 3pm to 5.30pm, $5 per head which includes bowling, a drink on arrival and shared grazing boards. Please support the Council by booking online at trybooking.com/BFROT or ring the Town of Claremont #9285 4300.

06.01.2022 Before the pennant game started on Saturday David Lee was presented with his Life Membership Badge by Hetty Archibald, Norm Underwood and Geoff McClements (all life members). David has been a member for 28 years serving as President for 8 of those years. On Thursday Division 4 white gained 5 pts. The pot winners were Des Lynch Jack Wara, Ian White and Chris Litchield. On Saturday Division 5 blue gained all 6pts. The pot winners were Peter Channer, Peter Hiatt, Martin Downey and Brian Marsland. Sunday scroungers 1st Dave Leeson 2nd Ian Thompson 3rd Rick Kendall. The next Matilda Music Club is on 9th December at 2pm (the last time before the Xmas break). It will followed by a B.B.Q for both Matildas and bowling club members at a cost of a $2.00 donation to the club.

06.01.2022 Stay warm and dry - come and have a glass of something and listen to some music with Matilda's Music Club open mike session 2-5pm on Sunday 9 June. :)

05.01.2022 On Thursday the Division 4 team played Hilton (the top team) and unfortunately failed to score any points. They are now 6th on the ladder. The Division 5 team also played away on Saturday. Their score against Lake Monger was 65-47 and they gained 6 points making them 2nd on the ladder. Thanks to the Claremont Council's generous Seniors Week programme a lively group of seniors spent an enjoyable Friday afternoon having fun on the green and then socialising over a gourmet barbe...que prepared by Rohan, from the council, and cooked by Club President Ian. Photo's can be viewed on the Club website www.claremontbowls.com.au.. The Sunday Scroungers winner was Kate Hiatt from Peter Channer. The next Matilda's music club (open mic) is this Sunday 25th November, starting from 2pm. The Matilda club meeting on December 9th will be followed by a barbeque at 5pm and there will then be a three week break until the new year. See more

04.01.2022 Two groups of social players and some training Pennant players took to the green on Saturday. Club Director of bowls, Martin Downey played in the State Fours competition all weekend. The 'father / son / father / son' 4s combination comprising of Martin & David Downey and Terry & Mitch Cranswick performed well in the early games of their section played at the Wanneroo Bowling Club. In the last game of the day the two undefeated sides met. Unfortunately the side skipped by Stat...e Player, Kyle McIlroy, proved too strong in a tight match. A final reminder that the "Music of the 20th Century" quiz night is on Friday 26th October starting at 6.30pm. The Matilda Music group is on again on Sunday 28th October from 2pm with a BBQ at 5.30pm. Vale Hazel Warr who died on 16th October. Hazel was an enthusiastic member of Claremont and previously Swanbourne bowling clubs. No Gala day was complete without the redoubtable Hazel and her delicious home cooked corned beef. See more
