23.01.2022 Saturday (25/1/20) at Claremont Bowls Club a randum draw event was held and was most enjoyable. Ron Coleman made most of the arrangements, Jamie Bowring had the BBQ in hand and Derek Jolly & Alan Anderson ran the bar. Our Patron, Hon Elise Archer MP, was present and donated a prize for the raffle. Gaye Coleman & John Grimmond were joint winners. Hazel Hanson came 3rd & Michael 'Chalkie' Dawes was 4th. (nice to get on green grass)
23.01.2022 Recently 2 Claremont Bowls Club members celebrated important birthdays. Pam Cooper on 29/2/20 (she only has a birthday every four years- so was she 18 of 72?) and Fritz Pfund 80, which means he is entitled to an OBE- Over Bloody Eighty recognition.

13.01.2022 Many things happen at Claremont Bowls Club in a week, but two of note were 1. Our Midweek side had its first overall win of the season when we conquered Glenorchy City and 2. In the Women's Division 1 last Thursday one rink scored a perfect 8! Well done!
12.01.2022 URGENT Suspension of all BTS Pennant Competition and Championships Dear Club Secretaries Following advice received from Bowls Australia and Bowls Tasmania, the Board of Bowls Tasmania South has suspended all pennant competition and championships indefinitely effective immediately.... This directive is aimed at safeguarding the health of the members, participants, employees, volunteers and officials, many of whom are typically from demographics that are particularly susceptible to the effects of the virus. From a Bowls Tasmania South point of view, this means that all Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday Pennant has ceased effective immediately with teams finishing on top of the ladder being declared Premiers. The Champion of Champions Singles Championship and Barefoot Bowls Champion of Champion events have been postponed and a decision on whether or not they will be run will be made at a later date. While acknowledging that Bowls Tasmania South is not the controlling body of competitions and events staged locally by clubs, we feel it is prudent in the current climate that all club championships and events also be suspended indefinitely in order to limit any non-essential mass gatherings. Kind regards Rob McGuire Secretary Bowls Tasmania South Phone: (03) 62491124 Facsimile: (03) 6249 1125 Mobile: 0409 703 073 Website: www.bowlstasmaniasouth.bowls.com.au Comment from Claremont Bowls Club: "The season is over and despite five of our divisions finishing in the Four none were in 1st Position. We have to accept the situation and hope that this virus is soon stopped. May things go better for season 2020-2021. Mike Quinn.
09.01.2022 On Saturday 24/10/2020 at Claremont Bowls Club in Division One Jack Ellis's rink of Winston Lane, Gaye Coleman and Max Barry scored an impressive win by 31 shots.
06.01.2022 At this time of people separated and ANZAC Day soon there are a couple of videos you might like to play that capture the moment. All three feature New Zealand singer Hayley Westenra. The last one is a rendition of the NZ Anthem before a rugby game. I think the AFL could learn from this moving moment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBX16iBQ0rI We’ll meet again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azBmlXhbRF0 For the fallen... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhCgcZ0efAA NZ Anthem See more
