22.01.2022 Dungog Shire Council met with the Clarence Town Progress Association following the community meeting held on Thursday 13 June, 2019. The Mayor, Deputy Mayor Digby Rayward, Councillor Kate Murphy, the General Manager and Roger Stephan attended the meeting. The discussions centred around the feedback provided in the community meeting with regard to the future operations of the Williams River Holiday Park. The meeting was positive and focused on what has been achieved in the... second stage of the re-opening of the Park and what options are available to Council when the future development of the Holiday Park is considered at the Extra Ordinary Meeting scheduled for Wednesday 26 June. The meeting acknowledged the clear feedback from the Lions in relation to use of Lions Park for camping activities and Council understands that the community generally is supportive of Lions Park staying the way it is. However, the relocation of the dump point into Lions Park was acceptable and it was agreed that this will provide greater access to this facility for all people passing through the Town. Consideration was also given to the riverside area being an RV/self contained caravan only zone and for camping at Wharf Reserve to be formalised and managed. There continues to be an emphasis on supporting events that require camping as this assists the businesses in the town as well as the event organisers. Some new ideas were also introduced such as the provision of water refill station at the relocated dump point. Council has agreed to look into this. Council is also in the process of reviewing the written feedback that has been provided by the community on future options for the Park, and this will be taken into consideration at the Council meeting in June. The Mayor reiterated that we are all in this together looking for the right solution. See more

01.01.2022 Have your say on the Mobile Blackspot Program. The paper proposes three main objectives for round 5A; to: - Improve coverage in areas prone to natural disasters including bushfires;... - Improve coverage along major regional and remote transport corridors; and to - Trial new technology solutions in areas where low population densities have discouraged applications in previous rounds. To have your say, visit: https://bit.ly/2yUkJk4 The discussion paper is open for submissions until 19 June 2020. Further details can be sourced per the media release documents attached.
