21.01.2022 Have you all been wondering who made the playful artwork behind the Clarence Jazz Festival 2021 logo? We'd like to introduce you to Sam Dobransky our Artist in Residence for 2021. Sam Dobransky is an abstract contemporary artist currently residing in Hobart, Tasmania. His practice includes painting, installation and large-scale mural work that explores the meditative relationship of repetition within the artistic process. ... His newly commissioned work (detail pictured), 'Don’t Worry ‘Bout Me' playfully explores the abstract repetition through an investigation into form and pattern. Sam will also be creating sculptural pieces that will be shown on the Festival sites.

13.01.2022 We are super excited to announce that Kelly Ottaway will be the Clarence Jazz Festival 2021 Ambassador. We are so proud and lucky to have this local legend on the Tasmanian Jazz scene and represent the festival with us. "Playing piano, keyboards and vibraphone, Kelly has performed over more than ten years with leading Australian artists in jazz, funk and soul. Kelly works extensively in the arts scene of Tasmania, involved in many local projects as part of internationally ren...owned festivals such as MONA FOMA, Dark MOFO and The Festival Called PANAMA. Nationally, Kelly is involved with some of Australia's leading big bands, as arranger and composer for such bands as the Dan Barnett Big Band and the Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra. Kelly also has a passion for music education, working with some of the leading schools and colleges that have a substantial performing arts program."
