23.01.2022 Day three of NAIDOC week and our children engaged in some more painting experiences using natural materials such as twigs and leaves, fingers too, as paint brushes, and they painted on pieces of bark and gumnuts. We again listened to Aboriginal songs and did some dancing to those songs and the children even used cardboard rolls as pretend didgeridoo’s.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to Sharna Kirkwood who is the winner of this competition. Thank you to those who have left us a review on our page. Sharna we have tried to contact you, but if we can't get hold of you, please reach out to us to organise your prize.

17.01.2022 Today at Crèche we celebrated DIWALI; the Indian Festival of Lights. All of the children decorated a Happy Diwali card for their families by drawing on them. We also used cut/split cardboard rolls to dip in paint and stamp on paper, creating fireworks. Area 3 children had their hands painted and printed on paper with glitter sparkles added to them. We were lucky enough to have a Bollywood Masti (Diwali Dance Incursion) today also, where the children participated in different dance moves to different songs, wearing cultural dress clothing and learnt a little about Diwali. Thank you very much for coming out Karuna. Our day was very bright and fun filled!

16.01.2022 This is our Acknowledge of Country which our Educators have collated and our children are passionate about saying this every day. We discuss the importance and meaning of our words and actions used. Being NAIDOC Week, our Acknowledgement is even more heart felt, relevant and respectful for our Centre.

07.01.2022 Day two of NAIDOC week today and the children were naturally involved in painting logs outdoors, which are used as our ‘waiting for the swings’ seats and now they look wonderful and bright. The children also used a small bunch of soft pine branches to paint with on paper, using Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander flag colours. Sand drawing occurred also, where we imitated the symbols on the rocks in the sand and used a chart for other symbols too.

06.01.2022 A video from our Bollywood incursion celebrations today

04.01.2022 Yesterday at Crèche we held a Junior MasterChef class Where the children in area 1&2 prepared their own afternoon tea snacks. We will be holding this fun MasterChef experience every third week of the month for the children to learn/gain cooking skills and self-help skills.

03.01.2022 Day four of NAIDOC week consisted of our children engaging in a colour sorting activity; matching the black, red and yellow coloured pom-poms on to the coloured felt circles which allowed them to identify and further on with their math skills, cognitive skills & sorting and categorising skills. Area 1&2 children also enjoyed using paint markers to decorate rocks. Later in the day Ineke came in and showed a little video to the children about a frog called Tiddilik and to extend upon this video we partook in an experiment of water bottles being a frog.
