25.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Yesterday the NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, released advice recommending that, effective from Wednesday 19 August 2020, all communit...y sporting events that involve travel from other regions should cease. Please click on the link below to see the details. Understanding that this will cause significant disruption to organising committees who had planned to run events this weekend and beyond, Equestrian NSW supports the position taken by NSW Health. If you need more details, please call the office on 9620 2660 or email [email protected]. https://www.nsw.equestrian.org.au//COVID%20-%2019%20UPDATE

25.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE The recommendation from NSW Health, that community sporting competitions are ceased, where riders travel from other regions, relies on a definit...ion of regions which we can't provide. There are many different maps, but none are referenced in the advice. In response, please apply common sense to your events, so that only "local" riders attend. See more

23.01.2022 Riders- some minor changes to Thursday's draw

20.01.2022 Clarendon Training/Protocol weekend 12-13th September Cancelled DNSW has made the difficult decision to to cancel the training/protocol weekend in September due largely to the difficulty of complying with the recent Health Dept advisories and the ENSW recommendations regarding community sport. In this instance we felt it was only fair to you, our riders, to make this decision as soon as possible. As a committee our responsibilities will always lie with our riders, our judges and volunteers, and our community. We are all keen to run a large event on 26-29th November, Covid restrictions permitting so WATCH THIS SPACE.

16.01.2022 The 2020 edition of PSI Dressage & Jumping with the Stars has become the latest event cancellation due to Covid-19, with organisers forced to pull the pin due t...o Stage 4 and Stage 3 restrictions across Victoria. The event, originally due to run in March, was rescheduled for 7-10 October however the latest restrictions, which extend until at least the middle of September, posed significant barriers to planning this year’s event. The focus now turns to running a 2021 event... Read more: www.equestrianlife.com.au//Equestrian-Victoria-announces-c Image: Roger Fitzhardinge #eqlifeaus

In line with the current Covid-19 restrictions this day will be open to South Western Sydney Region members only (green area on map) and will be measuring only, no arenas will be open and no riding is to take place. Bookings are essential and will be available on Nominate. A minimum of 20 horses are needed in order to run this day. UPDATE - here is the Nominate event link https://nominate.com.au/EquestDn/Event.aspx Information on measuring opportunities at other regional venues will be available shortly. 10.01.2022 On 19 Aug 20, NSW Health updated its Community Sport recommendations https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au//def/files/faqadvicesport.pdf. State Sporting Organisations ...(SSOs), including Equestrian NSW, were asked to cease activities that result in mixing of participants from different regions, with the region boundaries determined to suit individual sports. Equestrian NSW proposes to adopt the NSW Health regions shown on the link below. There are NSW and Sydney maps with the number of COVID-19 cases recorded to date in each region. https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//Pa/recent-case-updates.aspx This is not an exact science, so please apply common sense. The larger rural regions allow longer travel, whereas travel to and from the Greater Sydney regions (eg Western Sydney and South Western Sydney), with larger numbers of COVID-19 cases, carries a much higher risk that could result in community transmission If you need further details, please call the Equestrian NSW office on 9620 2660 or email [email protected]. 07.01.2022 This Circular to Members from Jumping Australia has been sent to DNSW by the EADC to share.

07.01.2022 Friday Draw with some minor changes - see you at Clarendon tomorrow

03.01.2022 TSS FOR HORSE MOVEMENTS Transported Stock Statements (TSS) were introduced by NSW Government Local Land Services in 1990, partly to assist Police to trace stole...n stock. Equestrian NSW has been made aware that enforcement of TSS's, to move horses on public roads, has increased in recent times. Currently, exemptions apply when horses are being transported to or from any agricultural show, exhibition, gymkhana, pony club meeting or similar function. Members feedback is needed about your enforcement experiences, so we can formally apply to have the regulations changed to include more common and low risk movements (eg travelling to get a lesson or exercise your horse). BRUCE FARRAR - Chief Executive Officer

02.01.2022 The Clarendon Events Sub-Committee met this afternoon to determine if the 8-9th August training day and competition should go ahead. We considered our responsibility to our riders, responsibility to our judges and volunteers, and responsibility to the broader community. We made the very difficult to cancel both the training day and the competition. We realise how disappointed those of you who entered the event will be, however we also recognise how insidious the Covid-19 vir...us is and we have taken into account the recent increase in transmissions in the Sydney metropolitan area. Riders will receive a full refund including the administration fee, and the Nominate fee which DNSW will cover. Our aim is to run a protocol/training weekend on 12-13th September. We know how keen everyone is to return to competition and we will keep you updated. In the meantime, stay safe. See more

02.01.2022 To help you prepare for the return of competition we have organised a series of measuring days. This is a great opportunity for both show horses and dressage po...nies to get current height certificates to ensure that they comply with their respective discipline rules. Please note all measuring days are pre entry ONLY via Nominate. https://www.nominate.com.au/equestdn/Nominate.aspx Measuring at SIEC will close tomorrow (Thursday 10th Sept) at 4pm. A minimum of 20 pre-booked horses are required at each of these days for them to go ahead. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer
