23.01.2022 Can you help us document Clarendon’s History? The Clarendon Museum is undertaking a large scale project to populate our new website with written content. With almost 175 years of history, there are many stories to write about Clarendon. We have researched many subjects, people and places, but we need to transcribe this research into clear and concise copy for visitors on our website. If you have previous writing experience or would just love to be involved, please join us for our initial writing workshop at 7pm on Tuesday the 22nd of September at the Clarendon Museum #clarendonmuseum #clarendonheritage #history @clarendonmuseum

19.01.2022 The Clarendon Museum has made the unavoidable decision to close to the public. Due to the uncertainty of the evolving response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be irresponsible to continue. This decision was made due to the reducing limits of people at inside gatherings and the emphasis on social distancing. This is an unprecedented and challenging time for everyone, but the health and safety of all of our patrons and volunteers must come first. In the meantime, stay safe and look after each other. We look forward to opening our doors again soon.

17.01.2022 In January the Clarendon Museum was lucky enough to receive the generous donation of a dog registration tag dating back to 1897. The tag was found by Mr Eric Suponin and his son Nicky, whilst relic hunting in the Clarendon Bicentennial Park (reserve opposite the Bakery). The registration tag is in fantastic condition for being over 120 years old. Eric and Nicky had a good browse of our collection after presenting us with the tag. They noticed a brass tag in our War collection... had similar characteristics to the tag they had just found. We removed the medal, and low and behold it was a dog registration tag from 1932. In one day our dog registration tag collection went from one to three! We encourage everyone to visit the Museum to inspect our expanded dog tag collection. We are opened on the last Sunday of the month between February and November, 1pm to 4pm. If you have any historical objects, photos or information relating to Clarendon please email us at [email protected].

05.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

04.01.2022 It was an amazing 2 weekends of LEGO bridge building. Thank you to all the kids that had a go (and also to the parents who waited patiently for the kids to participate). Last weeks leader Wiley somehow managed to more than double the strength of his original bridge to take out the title at 46.4kg! Jake and Zac came in second with a load of 43.6kg. Their bridge could have held more weight, but due to our inability to weight their bridge safely at the time we had to call off a...dding anymore weight. Ethan's record from last week of 17.3kg takes out the 0 - 6yr category. Tasmin and Jase Tilbrook brought in a surprise for us on the last day too. They had built a beautiful replica model of the Clarendon Bridge from LEGO. For such a tremendous effort they will be getting a LEGO set too. Tasmin will be bringing her bridge to show at the upcoming bridge celebrations on the 21st of July so you can admire it there if you didn't get a chance to see it. We will be bringing the LEGO board setup to the July event too so kids can test out their bridge building skills once again.

04.01.2022 We are open. Come on down!

03.01.2022 A huge thank you to our local member @josh_teague_mp for his kind donation of a beautifully framed photo for our Clarendon Bridge celebration. Special thanks to his team April and Bethany for their ongoing support.

02.01.2022 Here are the prizes for our bridge building competition which starts this Sunday! There are two divisions 0 - 6yrs and 7 - 12yrs. The bridge that can hold the most weight in each division will win a LEGO set. If there is a tie then it will come down to which bridge looks the most AWESOME! Good luck builders!
