25.01.2022 I may just be struggling to maintain my excitement right now. This photo may not mean much to some but to us it means the world... Our cooktop has been broken for some time and after COVID's impact on delivery we finally have it here, in and guess what..... It boils pots in 2 minutes flat, gone are the days of waiting what seems like hours for our spuds to boil. Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you to our Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein ,for the funds to purchase our new cooktop, ...Jacquie Petrusma MP for seeing our need and going into bat for us and David O'Byrne MP for organising the installation. Because of you all our Community Meals and other food programs will run far more effective. (Who knows how many meals we can now make on a Tuesday night :) )

23.01.2022 Good Morning all, As some of you have already been made aware we are making some exciting changes to our Tuesday Night Dinner Service again. What is new you ask? Well, Youth Beat has resumed their service from 5-7 Tuesday nights and Louis Van is in from 5:45pm so what better opportunity to move again to more of a pick-up service. The weather is warming up and while we can not fit inside our building, outside in the park, green space and garden there is ample space to enjoy so...me time together. So with your dinner ready at 5pm and a hive of activity happening..... September 15th will bring us a new and exciting Shirl's Kitchen and Convo Dinner... We are excited and we hope you are too. We really are looking forward to some fun new times with you all. See more

21.01.2022 Good evening all. We have been made aware that there are still issues with someone getting into cars in the Clarence Plains Area. We spoke to our local police and while they will do what they can, they also offered the following advice: Make sure your car is locked, double check before going to bed if you need to. Dont leave valuables in your car or the boot of your car. Remember once they are in they can access the whole car.... Make sure windows are shut. Report illegal activity. Finally, we would like to remind you all to keep an eye on your neighbours. By looking after each other we will make it harder for this type of thing to occur.

With all the feedback we have received we know more people are are after a local Tai Chi Class. So our question is... would you be happy to attend the Class if we actually bring it to you? We could do 1 week in the greens at Glebe Hill, 1 week at the Oakdowns park and one week in Clarendon Vale. The cost is $7.00 per session however pay a yearly CVNC membership of $1.00 and its only $5.00 per session.

14.01.2022 Good Afternoon All, As many of you are aware we are taking some leave next week. Tomorrow our doors will close at 4:30pm and we will re-open 9am Monday the 3rd. Our Staff and Volunteers have been working hard since the 24th of March and I am in awe of each and everyone of them. In just under 18 weeks they have managed to deliver to our community 4818 hot three course meals, 2910 food bags, 436 care packs, support a huge number of NILS loans and do up to 50 support checks each... and every week. They are simply amazing and each day they have shown just how much this community has meant to them. I have watched as they walked the streets to Egg over 800 houses, drop Neighbourhood House gifts to over 4000 and a special gift to atleast 130 families per week. I have heard stories about how people now smile at each other, they now talk on the bus and our 4 communities of Clarence Plains are supporting each other. I know COVID has been hard for us all, scary even, however I am so proud to be apart of CVNC, Clarence Plains and everything that comes with it. To see the community come together and see things as WE not ME has truely reminded me of why I will never call anywhere else but here home. We may not have it all, but we have eachother and that is what makes our community great. While we are away if you could please take the time to complete our mid year survey to help us become bigger, better and more relevant upon our return. After all CVNC is your neighbourhood House, ran by community for community and we need you to make it great. Thank you to all of you for being you and making this the greatest place on earth. Kristy. P.S. if you still have your tile sitting at home let us know.
