05.01.2022 Flashback Friday Leigh Clarnette sitting in Padthaway Estate's grape press in 1990. Leigh was hired by the owners to make premium Sparkling from Padthaway fruit as well as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Typically, this press is used in premium press houses all over Champagne and this is still the only one in Australia. Leigh was following his passion for the Sparkling wine process after the previous four years in the Yarra Valley, where he made the Sparkling base wines for Domaine Chandon in the Yarra Valley at TarraWarra. #australianwine #australianwinemakers #flashbackfriday #sparklingwine
