22.01.2022 We know that many of you are aware of the situation in Myanmar, and we've had multiple questions about the status of Classroom of Hope's schools and programs there. Our local partner, Child's Dream, shared a newsletter last week about the coup in Myanmar. We've shared this newsletter on our blog, because we feel it is important for our donors and the Classroom of Hope community to know how this coup is affecting our local partner and the students and schools we support together. Visit our blog at https://classroomofhope.org/blog to see more.

21.01.2022 Nicola is a full-time mum of two gorgeous girls, yet somehow she still manages to commit 100% to the cause to help other parents empower their children through education! She's a legend, and we are so proud to have Nicola's leadership in the organisation!

21.01.2022 Meet Samai, one of our inspiring STEM4Women scholarship recipients and recent graduates! Samai is the only member of her family who was able to complete higher education. Due to financial problems, all of Samai's siblings had to drop out of school before they completed their primary education. Despite many challenges throughout her high school education, Samai worked incredibly hard and received a scholarship to support her through her higher education! With a scholarship fu...nded by our generous donor Navitas and administered by Classroom Of Hope and our local partner Kampuchean Action for Primary Education, Samai graduated with her Associate's Degree in Web Development last September, and has been working as a Software Developer ever since! With the skills she learned through her degree, Samai is excited to be able to support herself, find success, and be strongly independent! When she has saved enough money, Samai wants to send her youngest brother to study mechanics so that he can also learn, grow, and find a good job! THESE are our future leaders! We're so proud of Samai and all of our STEM4Women graduates!

20.01.2022 Three little words that can keep us healthy! Although schools are closed right now due to COVID19, we're glad the sanitation facilities at COH schools can still serve local communities and help keep people safe! On that note, have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to "wash your hands!"

20.01.2022 20 November is World Children's Day! On this day in 1954, the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. AND on the same day in 1989, they ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child (#UNCRC), the most universally accepted human rights treaty in history! ... It was this treaty that changed the way children are viewed and treated as human beings with a distinct set of rights instead of as passive objects of care and charity. On this special day in 2020, the world's children are facing a whole new set of challenges. It's time for us to come together as a global community and take this chance to reimagine a better world #ForEveryChild! How would YOU reimagine a safer, brighter future for every child? At Classroom Of Hope, we imagine a world in which every child has access to a quality education. In honor of #WorldChildrensDay, share your ideas and vision for a better tomorrow! #ChildrensDay #UniversalChildrensDay

19.01.2022 "Our world faces a common enemy: a deadly virus that is causing immense suffering... We may not be able to stand next to one another. But we must still stand together." -Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres. Today, on the International Day of Peace, let us all pledge to promote love, empathy, and peace among people living across the globe. Let us devote ourselves to strengthening the ideals of peace, and standing together against our common challenges. ... Classroom of Hope sends our love to our global community on this beautiful day of togetherness and shared humanity! #ShapingPeaceTogether #InternationalDayofPeace #StandTogether

18.01.2022 How do you get drinking water? When you get thirsty, can you turn on a faucet in your house and drink the water that comes out? In many parts of the world, that's not a reality. Nearly 785 million people in our world don’t have access to clean drinking water. That number is only growing larger these days due to COVID-19. That's why we're so proud to partner with Social ImpaKt to improve access to clean drinking water for rural communities in Indonesia! ... Social Impakt's Nazava Water Filters purify water at the household level! These water filters are 30 times less expensive than buying branded water gallons, and 5 times cheaper even than boiling water. Using it improves health, increases disposable income, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions and the use of plastic bottles! With help from Classroom of Hope's amazing major donors, we've been able to work with Social Impakt to provide these life-changing water filters to 118 families throughout Bali -- and we hope to be able to continue helping this amazing local NGO make a difference. Want to contribute? Get in touch with Classroom of Hope or Social ImpaKt and make YOUR impact today! Photos by Shayna Pitch Photography

16.01.2022 STEM 4 WOMEN PROGRESS UPDATE! We are so excited to announce that we have 6 new STEM4Women graduates this year, thanks to the scholarships generously donated by Navitas! Our STEM4Women project with our partner Kampuchean Action for Primary Education aims to empower young women, like Ms. Chheng Seang, one of our new graduates! ... Earlier this year, Ms. Chhen Seang graduated from Buriram College of Agriculture and Technology with a major in Food Chemistry from the Department of Argo-Industry - along with a certificate for achieving the highest grade level in her department! Education is really important to me. If it were not for the STEM4Women Scholarship, I would have stayed at home and worked on the farm with my grandparents. My family is so proud of me! Other families from my village have decided to send their daughters to school too because they are starting to change their mindset about supporting girls in education. I want to see girls from my community go to school and get higher education, especially in STEM. You have to fight for yourself and never give up on your dreams. Gender cannot limit us or determine what we can or cannot do because we (girls/women) can do anything we want to do. We are incredibly inspired by Ms. Chheng Seang and her fellow graduates, and so grateful to the donors who made it possible for these young women to change their own paths -- and the WORLD! Thank you Navitas!

15.01.2022 Teaching is LOVE in its purest form. Without teachers, a school is just a building. Our teachers are our heroes! Drop a below or tag your favourite teacher if you agree!

12.01.2022 In Bali, Indonesia, over 80% of the island's 4.2 million people are dependent on tourism, and COVID-19 has taken a heavy toll. The loss of livelihood has hit the poor and vulnerable communities the hardest. That's why we're proud to team up with Scholars of Sustenance - Bali Strong (SOS) and Social ImpaKt to bring food and water relief to the hardest-hit communities! So far, funds from our generous donors have been able to provide over 85,000 nutritious meals and 118 water ...filters to communities around Bali. We're loving these beautiful portraits of community members during a distribution with SOS. Thank you to Shayna Pitch Photography for capturing these amazing moments and the emotion of the day! 12.01.2022 "The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows." When you look into a mirror, you only see your own reflection and a small area behind you. When you look out a window, the views can be vast, varied, and limitless! ... The more education we expose ourselves to, the more we can see, understand, and imagine! The more education we receive, the more opportunities we can see in front of us. Thanks for helping us turn mirrors into windows! #WisdomWednesday #WednesdayWisdom

03.01.2022 Whether it’s individually or in a team, fundraisers all share a passion for community development. They understand that the spirit of giving can make a substantial difference in children's lives. Fundraising can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be! You decide which project you want to support and the time frame you need to reach your goal. Fundraising can be so much fun! But most of all, our donors say it is "an unforgettable experience". One that stays with them foreve...r, not just because it feels good to help others, but more so because they have changed a child's life, and in doing so helps empower the next generation, breaking the cycle of poverty.
