Tick off the bare necessaries that you can’t live without and all other axe ruthlessly. After that see how much income you have coming in right now. Can you expenses be paid for? ... Maybe these points listed below could further reduce those bills in next 4 weeks. Then here is some homework to do: 1. Negotiate with banks and credit card companies to freeze your repayments. Most will give you a 90 day window to help you. 2. If you have a tax liability, call the ATO and they too are most helpful by postponing payments. 3. 06.01.2022 Something to think about Imagine if we were to say I don’t need much to tide by. I just need a job to pay my bills and give me security! Imagine you and I say that? Now what if we settle for that average life which on the surface seems ok to start with. Life goes on as usual, we have kids, buy a house and start to raise our families. We even begin to save an extra $20 a week after paying all bills. ... That savings after 40 years can be a substantial savings of $400,000 or more. Isn’t that amazing? Now in your 40’s your parents have started to age. They sadly didn’t save much cash as they invested bringing you up, giving you the best education they could hoping that after you got a job they would catch up financially. Sadly it didn’t happen. Now they turn to their children to help them. The other siblings aren’t in any financial position to assist. They turn now to you to look after them in old age. You feel it’s your moral obligation to do so. Slowly your nest egg of savings start to dwindle until parents pass away. And you left with nothing. Even though you saved a little you still couldn’t manage when it came your time to retire. Why? Because I feel we settled at the very onset on life’s journey for an average life with average savings. We didn’t factor in looking after parents. We didn’t expect life would give us surprises. But it always does. This is why we must do much more than just survive and expect our jobs will deliver.
