19.01.2022 We all have different interests, and one I love to share and so much miss is my outings sometimes very much in a blitz on the spot decision, visiting the Zoo of Adelaide. Being a member of Australian zoos means I can visit anytime when I wish! Of course every time my camera is happy to go with me and visit all the animals at the Zoo. They love visits! Whenever I feel need a break from the world, you sure will find me at the Zoo. Not always will take photos, at times just taki...ng a book with me to read or enjoy being there. Away, from traffic, and the buzz of daily routines. I am sad we cant visit the Zoo of Adelaide, and hearing the passing of Brutus the Hippo. It made me very sad! The past few years, each time getting into the Zoo, he was the first one always would visit. If I started around lunchtime, I would go first to the café opposite Brutus enclosure and have a nice lunch before it was his time to show up. His keeper to introduce, educate people about his family The Hippopotamus. He certainly was a massive star for the Adelaide Zoo. Sadly, I think after Suzie died in July 2017, he tried very hard to keep it up in the past two years. Although they say he had health issues, I think he was heartbroken too Missing Suzie Both were born at Sydneys Taronga Zoo. We wont see any more Hippos at the Adelaide Zoo, but on the grapevine, we might see them again at Monarto Zoo with all the developing going on its worthwhile waiting! Might we see one of Suzies siblings? Who knows ? RIP Brutus Sure will miss you, big fellow. #AdelaideZoo #ZooAustralia #Seesouthaustralia #BrutusAdelaideZoo #HipposatAdelaideZoo #Hippopotamus #Claudineburgessphotography

18.01.2022 The rose is a rose from the time it is a seed to the time it dies. Within it, at all times, it contains its full potential. It seems to be constantly in the process of change: Yet at each state, at each moment, it is perfectly all right as it is. Paulo Coelho When life becomes a bit hectic, a great way is to step back and do something you love. Spending time in my garden is always a great way to recharging the batteries and have a bit of time for self. I am so happy I to...ok these photos only last week, capturing their beauty, after yesterdays sweltering weather and winds. They have suffered a bit, and we can very much look at a life cycle of a rose and compare it with our own lives. Like them, we go through different phases of growth, pruning, and the winter season can make us feel at times the blues, but like roses, we always regrow and flourish again. Have a wonderful weekend #gardenphotography #Roses #Pink #Growth #pruning #claudineburgessphotography

18.01.2022 It was absolutely a privilege photographing this one-off rebuild SS120 for Finch Restoration at Mount Barker. I love photographing classic cars and primarily due to their stories they can tell. This SS120, a continuation of the swallow Sidecar SS line, was rebuilt at Finch Restoration for a client over a three-year project. Its a stunning car, and the Swallow Sidecar appeared first in 1922, founded by William Lyons and William Walmsley. Sadly with the outbreak of WW2 ended... the production and the association with the Nazis, the company Swallow sidecar changed its name to Jaguar. After the war, Jaguar builds the XK120 a car that became known for racing and rallying: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XK120 or visit www.finchrestoration.com.au read more about how they can help you restore your treasure car or bike hidden for a while in your shed. #finchrestoration #Finchrestorationadelaidehillssouthaustralia #SS120jaguar #JaguarAustralia #Classiccars #Classiccarsphotography #Claudineburgessphotography

18.01.2022 We may not forget the people who have gone through a disaster of losing their livelihood, businesses last Christmas, having to deal with another disaster." Coronavirus " Be kind, reach out and support them, they are now another group of vulnerable people within our society. https://issuu.com/eysmagazine My story on page 29 - 30 - 31 ... In all we going through together right now - there is another group of people that need are continuous support here in Australia. Everything is so focussed on the coronavirus (well I nickname him MR Corona -) who is having a ball at this moment worldwide! In all the midst of it all, there is not much news around the Bushfire victims, how are they coping and now having to deal with another tragedy on top of it all. How are they coping is a huge question on my mind! Here is my story for EyS magazine I wrote about Max and Ron, who I met and ever since being in close contact - giving my support and helping them out with everything I can do. You can too, be kind and give your support! Even they are strangers! Throughout, writing their story, I got richer in have gained a new friendship and them being part of my family. 17.01.2022 What is happening at my doorstep is devastating and it has affected many families in our beautiful Adelaide Hills in South Australia and every state in this country in the past few months. In many countries in the world firefighters are paid for doing what they do best and we are going into 2020 and reading the question do volunteer Firefighters need to get paid in this country? https://www.abc.net.au//volunteer-firefighters-d/11820016... Yes, they must get paid and can't see why already having an army reserve model in place. They get paid, so I can't see why we can't create a CFS reserve model? Only an idea would like to suggest our government. There is no doubt with climate change happening we will see more of our enemy Fire crossing our paths and destroy so much in its path. I think its time for a huge change in the word " CFS Volunteer " time to create a new name CFS RESERVE! Have a look into https://reserves.defencejobs.gov.au/jobs and go in-depth and convert it into what a firefighter in their volunteer duty does every time when fires, floods, storms appear and helping saving communities in this country #CFSvolunteers #Australiagovernment #PrimeministerScottMorrison #PremierStevenMarshall #Adelaidehillscouncil #Mountbarkercouncil

15.01.2022 It was wonderful knowing my black Swan who is a resident at #Warrawongwildlifepark in Aldgate South Australia gained an award and attention - With all the uncertainty that is happening in Australia , and where the Black swan is its home. 14.01.2022 Today the 20th of December in 2019, was a day for our beautiful Adelaide Hills to come to a standstill during the devastating bushfires we encountered and would change many people's life's forever. I have kept contact very much throughout the year with Max and Ron since I wrote their story for #Eysmagazine It was lovely catching up with Max and Ron today in their new recently home, after a long year of finding a place they can settle in for a longer-term, after living in a s...hort time in a retirement village. Let's not forget these people this Christmas; people who lost a lot during these bushfires in 2019 - 20 need continued support; it's a long road they have towards recovery. 12.01.2022 It is terrific news that bigger attractions are reopening just in time for the school holidays here in South Australia. This post shares some photos that I took, before the Corona Virus Lockdown, of the magnificent Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary here in the stunning Adelaide Hills, a place not to be missed visiting in these July holidays! Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary is a perfect, fun, educative day trip for the whole family, with lots of activities on offer, including getting... up close, with behind the scenes guided tours on the 28 acres ecosystem. There is a feral proof fence to keep the animals safe from cats and Foxes. When visiting, you might encounter the elusive Platypus, which is only at Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary on mainland South Australia. Don't forget to see the Dingos and stay to have a bite to eat as "they make the best toasties in the Adelaide Hills". 12.01.2022 A U-turn, on my way home, right before sunset. I did a photoshoot that day for a client and having my camera with me, and it was a lovely late afternoon calling it the golden hours I recently discovered not far away from where I live, and there is a deer farm. While having the camera with me thought to take the risk and hoped they would be by the fence near the roadside. How lucky was I, they were near the fence! 05.01.2022 It is feeling a bit strange staying at home, and I was only thinking about what would I have been doing today? Easter Sunday! Well, one of the outings would have been a visit to the Adelaide Zoo. I am a member of Zoo Australia, and I miss visiting the animals at the Adelaide Zoo; I got to know so well in the past two years. My place where I can relax, engage and take photos for my passion for wildlife photography. I certainly choose to share this fellow who lives at the Adel...aide Zoo South Australia, reminding me a bit of a bunny! The Patagonian Mara lives in the lowland habitats of Argentina. Population numbers of Patagonian Mara are rapidly declining, primarily as a result of habitat loss, hunting, and competition with introduced herbivores such as sheep and the European hare. Although he looks like a hare, he is related to the guinea pig family. He is a vegetarian and likes plants, fruit, grass, herbs, and leaves on the menu. Its an active quit animal and inquisitive of nature. The Mara has long, sturdy hind legs, which give it the ability to escape from predators rapidly; Maras can reach speeds of 45km per hour. The front legs are shorter, with four sharp claws that help the species to dig tunnels. Its a very loyal animal when males are fully grown; they find a female and stay forever together! How Romantic!!! Happy Easter, everyone, and I hope you all have been very spoiled with lots of chocolate Easter eggs! 01.01.2022 This was so awesome and till that day really never covered doing Football photography. The intention was more direct of the community that came to watch ... 01.01.2022 Oh, they can be a pest in our communities, talking in my state of South Australia. Don't know why they call them LITTLE Corellas; they aren't that little. Not through my lens A pest yes, next day I had to clean my car! I understood why there was so much car park space in the main street of Aldinga around that time over 5.00 pm ... It was on a driveway home from seeing a client, who wanted Corporate, lifestyle images done and passing the township of Aldinga South Austral...ia. "Aldinga is a very buzzy holidaymaker here on the west coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. A small beach town for locals and tourists to relax and experience some long walks on the sturdy hard sand, and able to drive a 4WD vehicles to a point, where they can park and enjoy their passion for beach fishing. It's in a perfect neighborhood to stay at and blend into exploring the beautiful wine region McLaren Vale and its exquisite cafes, restaurants it offers". It was like driving through a movie The Birds is a 1963 American horror-thriller film directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock that late afternoon. Except they were white and friendly, and it was pleasant energy, watching them patiently their moves flying in such a small main street area of Aldinga's main center. Not sure if the locals like them, and I think they are accepted being part of Aldinga's community for a specific time of the day! Observing the Little Corellas, they are very entertaining to watch, especially this one on the spear of the local Aldinga church. I know he knew he had my attention! But he gave me as well a message, Whatever is happening, be open to seeing different perspectives What we all need right now in the world challenged. Keep well!
