25.01.2022 Hey, you Mob! We know you’re tired after this year's events, life in general never makes business easy AND if it feels like you SHOULD have more freedom in your business than you do right now, then I want to tell you something.. I wish someone would have told me that? Is regrettably that ’something’. Not seeking real business support (friends & family that don’t own a business don't count!) meant I didn’t reach my business goals as fast as I could, made a tonne of mistakes..., and lost me, clients... If you're like me, you’re either super self-determined, shame, or not sure what to ask? And that's is okay! But truly it doesn’t have to be so hard! Just absorb that for a mo.I will repeat it. It doesn’t have to be this hard. In SO many ways our mob have it hard enough already... I wish someone would have told me that? So, please hear that if you need it, but also, knowing where to go to get culturally inclusive support was non-existent at the start of my business. That is why I want to share the 'ONE Business Program.' I can't wait, because the knowledge drops from both Emma Yolla Consulting and Leesa Iscariot Media has been incredible! Emma & Leesa tirelessly share their knowledge with openness and with our mob always in mind. They really have condensed all their knowledge into 'ONE program' that will make kicking off your business or passion project as simple as it needs to be. I say 'as it needs to be' because there are no real shortcuts in a business, YOU need to do the work to make it happen. HOWEVER, when someone can in 5 mins support you to understand the essentials which might take 1-5 years trudging it out alone, then I say don't hesitate to sign up to this program guys. You get a bank of 6 trainers all in the business right now who have been where you are NOW (me included) and two lead Trainers Emma & Leesa who have been delivering small business & digital training for years. That's ONE big knowledge base to lean on guys... Even after being in the Photography Industry for 12 years and 2 years into Social Media Marketing, learning the essentials at the start was not as exciting as the creative stuff, and so my business suffered! ( A LOOOONG story for another time) 'ONE Business' is about mastering the essentials like finance, pitching & when to market, it will give you more confidence in nearly every aspect of your business. Plus, you get ongoing mentoring after. You can draw from the pool of diverse trainers we have to tailor the support or work with ONE mentor if that’s all you need. The #10weeksofWHY is my way to share the lessons I have learned that helped me overcome my previous feelings of 'always stuck' on what to post with social media. No one method is right or wrong....these 10 weeks I just want you to explore and TEST any of the ones that feel right for you and why you need/want to be on social media for your business. Once you know the reasons behind doing any post, it does not feel so much like work. It beco...mes purposeful and productive work. Entertainment can be a great way to help your customers get to know you on; A more personal level Show your humorous side Give a behind the scenes glimpse Show you tools of the trade or Simply help them escape, yes, escape! If you can provide a way for your customers to feel better, take a break, distract them from the heavy load of current events then they may just engage more and or even remember you first when it does come time to buy. If going online for your customer is time that helps people escape from *whatever* then what can you contribute to that escape?

If often icky to think of socials being about transactions, BUT, we are in business, so there is always going to be an element of business involved. How YOU deliver is your decision. YOU have more than enough to say, and perhaps you need a hand with a framework, to translate, package and deliver it more often... That's where we can help.

12.01.2022 Some slow slumber inspo for ya, this Sunday morning.. Almost twelve months ago! I captured some gorgeous interior & lifestyle images for the @oldschoolhousemilton social media, website and submission for the @ilovelinen ‘places we stay' blog. Planning your photoshoot beyond the obvious is not only a great way to increase the usabability & visibility of your brand /product/service it comes with with the added benefit of of some additional credibility when someone else talk...s you up! When you the products you use because it adds to the experience of your clients or customers, being an advocate for another brand makes sense and it's a beautiful way create business visibility that's mutual. Planning collaboration images into your creative content library, can help you to choose; The right collaboration Match the right creator Increase your chances at a successful submission. Without the proper planning in ALL THE WAYS needed on this shoot prior to the actual shoot day (so, so, many ways!) it may have resulted in less image options, diluted the quality due to rushing, or, worse, not have happened at all, because time was super tight yo! Congrats Jenny, here's cheers to a a successful submission!

06.01.2022 How many times have you learnt something for business on a 'NEED TO KNOW' (right now) basis? I am guessing, like me, a fair bit...In business, this seems to be the default mode, am I right? As professional Photographer turned Content Creator & Strategist, it has been an awesome learning curve to practically turn all the visual *theory* into practical social frameworks. Socials are inherently 'visual-first', so it made sense to use my 10+ year background and evolve it to what ...it is now. I gotta say, some things are a given, and others are a total surprise! I am always learning and adapting. This year, FRAMEWORKS are the biggest focus of my business. Content frameworks can be as simple or as complicated as you need, but, everyone needs to save time...so, if you cannot match an image in less than 5mins to your captions. You are wasting time....and time is *money* less freedom for me. If the idea of onset content rotation plan gets you warm and fuzzy, or If batching visuals is something you need in your life Or organising your images to be MORE searchable sounds wonderful. 06.01.2022 Validation of choice - 1/10 Weeks of WHY, every Wednesday... JUDGEY MUCH?! Social Media has become one of the most used brand touchpoints when potential clients or customers seek validating an unknown choice, or, even recommendations! Here's a scenario.... ... How often have you jumped online when looking for a cafe to have lunch or dinner simply to suss out that laundry list of needs you have? It's no different for your potential clients. Often this is the reason many business owners get stuck with their content creation. They feel the pressure of judgement, however, if you can come at it from another angle... Validating our choices, means we feel more comfortable spending our hard-earned dollars, (especially important right now) Validating our choices can give us a greater sense of control over an unknown. Validating a specific choice may help you find a better option for you. Woolworths recently announced their new online initiative to visually show how busy it is instore-online, in real-time. This may not sway your decision if you are a die-hard IGA fan or happy to continue getting groceries delivered, but, what it does offer is; they have understood the needs of the customer and are working to make in-store shopping more accessible and safe for everyone. Visuals are a great tool to tell us what we need/want to know in the shortest way/time possible! So, back to the cafe scenario, do you visually show how yummy, BIG, tasty, greasy good, kid-friendly? That's great! and keep doing that. However, user stats suggest that transparency around health and sanitation would be a good move. Zomato recently reported an increased interest in users focussing on the app's hygiene ratings of restaurants they're interested in. Businesses with strong hygiene ratings seen as much as a 25 per cent increase in orders through the app! So don't forget to show the touchless delivery, curbside drop off, gloves, masks, distancing in-store etc., slowest times of the day to book in. Plan ahead, stay flexible and stay safe everyone!
