10.01.2022 Happy 1st September. Can you believe it?! Traditionally, this is the time that we begin gently prompting our #firing service customers to think about their #Christmas creations. This year it is more important than ever. Due to the large volumes of #Isoart received since Easter our #kilns have been firing more than 3x their average volumes each & every week. #dontpanic #planahead Remember, bring only 1 box per firing type, complete the request form, know your #clay & #glazes #yougotthis

10.01.2022 Good morning Sunny Coast! Qld Covid restrictions are starting to ease For today though we will be keeping our table at the front door from where you can collect your orders! We will introduce limited in-store access next week . Stay tuned for details in an upcoming post #clayistheway #wegotthis #supportsmallbusiness #sunshinecoast

08.01.2022 CLOSED TODAY for Labour Day....or Star Wars Day depending on your preference! COVID UPDATE: From opening tomorrow, walk-in access to the shop IS BACK with entry restricted to 4 patrons at a time. We request that you continue to practice social distancing, limit your visit to 15 minutes and be mindful of others waiting to enter. For our customers outside of our 50km radius, don't forget that post, courier and freight options are available.... FIRING SERVICE will recommence on Monday 11th May. We are aware that isolation has been the perfect time to play with clay and many of you have been patiently waiting to drop off your creations. SO, to minimise waiting times for all and avoid a lack of storage space for us we will be limiting "drop-offs" to ONE (1) box of firing per customer/household in the queue at a time. What is a box? we hear you ask! Example image shown. An average size of 25cm cube please:) Helpful tips also available at our website http://www.clayshed.com.au/index_files/FiringService.htm. If in doubt, please chat with us. Take care, stay safe & healthy. Cameron, Tania & family.

06.01.2022 News from Walkers in Bayswater Online sales are still operating and our Pick & Pack and Despatch teams will be working through to get you your supplies. Click ...and collect will operate for all carriers, couriers and customers with registered ceramic business ONLY. If you do not have a registered ceramic business we legally can only deliver to you as unfortunately we for some reason the government has not designated Pottery as an essential business!!?? Manufacturing in Bayswater has been stopped by law but we hopefully have plenty of stock on the shelves to see us through. Clay production is continuing as it is in regional Victoria so we hope to keep up with the demand of everyone doing pottery "in isolation"! Our sales team Tracy, Maree, Tanya and David will be answering phones from home and we will help in any way we can but all orders MUST be made online. If you need technical advice please email me directly on [email protected] . In the meantime please stay safe and healthy. Enjoy your pottery in isolation. David Walker See more

03.01.2022 Local network outage means we’ll have no EFTPOS available today.

03.01.2022 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the postponement of Clay Gulgong 2020. It is a decision we have laboured over in consultation with the local ...community, the ceramics community, and state and regional governments. Please understand that our intention is to ensure that all involved with Clay Gulgong (including every delegate) is able to enjoy it without any fear or concern for their health. We also wish to ensure that the rural health services the wonderful people of Gulgong rely on, is not overburdened by an influx of over 700 people from around Australia, and the world. As difficult as all of this is, we have been incredibly buoyed by the magnificent masters of CG2020 including Peter Pincus, who wrote: ‘Team Gulgong, you are fantastic. I can't imagine how stressful this is for you, as rescheduling this event this close to this event is nothing short of emotionally and logistically painful. I acknowledge your generosity, positivity, and amazing ability to problem solve with expedience. I'm so thankful for you and your efforts. Please let me know what - if anything - I can do to help you. Otherwise, I'll anxiously await April 2021!’ And the divine Juz Kitson: ‘ I’m sincerely sorry to hear this news, what a tough decision to make with such short lead time though I completely understand and will definitely be able to participate in 2021. Count me in and look forward to being a part of a bigger and better Clay Gulgong . Much love’ And the incredible Monika Patuszynska: ‘I am saving the date for 2021. I am sorry that it will not happen this year but that is probably the best thing to be done. Big, big hugs’ And the legend who is Keith Brymer Jones: ‘Well obviously it’s an incredible shame, but under the circumstances can totally understand it (the world has gone mad). If anything, it gives us more time to make it even better than it was going to be!! Much love to all of you around the globe’. And the wonderful Justin Rothshank: ‘I'm super disappointed, but also there's some relief too. The unknown aspects of quarantines/travel restrictions make travel abroad difficult to consider now. I'm on board for 2021. I'll bring my party hat for sure!’ And our dear friend Garth Clark: ‘Doing the right thing is difficult, costly and frustrating. We will all be with you in 2021’. So, where to now? Well, we have been working furiously to move things to April 3-9 / 2021 and will be in contact with each of our registered delegates by email over the weekend to ask if they wish to be reimbursed, or roll-over their registrations to 2021. We encourage those who have accommodation booked to contact their providers and move the dates to next year. To our K-12 students and teachers we look forward to exhibiting your work at Clay Gulgong 2021 and thank the fabulous KAREN KING and FELICITY WOODS for continuing to oversee this. To our WORLD STAGE and EMERGING ARTISTS, Marta will be here in 2021 and we will move forward with selections. To our THROWDOWNUNDER contestants, KBJ will be in contact in the coming months and please know your positions are secured for 2021. To everyone EXHIBITING all will take place in 2021. To our READERS and WRITERS, Sebastian and Catherine will be here in 2021 and look forward to working with you. To our STUDENT AWARD WINNERS everything will happen for you in 2021 as it would have this year. To our MASTER ASSISTANTS your positions are secure and we will be in contact to check you are available for 2021. To those who will be in the SHOP FRONT TRAIL thank you for your patience and we look forward to working with you in 2021. To our amazing SPONSORS, the biggest THANK YOU for remaining on this journey with us. To the MIGHTY CERAMIC STUDY GROUP, we look forward to drinking from your handmade delegate cups next April. A huge and heartfelt thank you. Words fail us to adequately thank TEAM GULGONG who work tirelessly to make this festival happen. LINDA EWIN, you are a superstar. In closing, we sincerely and deeply apologise for the disappointment we have caused. After many sleepless nights, long conversations and attempting to do the right thing by everyone, we ask for your understanding. What we can promise you is the BIGGEST, BEST and most BRILLIANT festival in just over a years’ time, when TEAM GULGONG, the GULGONG MASTERS and us, welcome you back to our beautiful town for a week of celebration, community, shenanigans, and ceramics. We are all in this together, and that feels so perfectly comforting right now. Thank you, thank you See more
